On New Year's Day of 2007, a Falun Gong backbone Zhu Genmei in Germany died of diabetes due to obsessing with Falun Gong and refusing medical treatment.

In the 1990s, Zhu Genmei attended Falun Gong relative activities actively, and then became the main person in Frankfurt Falun Gong organization after applying for political asylum in Germany.

Her diagnosis was confirmed two years earlier, but Zhu persisted in cultivation to cure illness. The Germany doctor pointed out that Zhu died of fatal blood infection because of not being treated in time.
