A satellite company based in Hong Kong has accused the outlawed Falun Gong organization of hijacking its satellite and disrupting its normal services on Monday.

The accusation was made on Tuesday by Asia Satellite Telecommunications Corporation, a company listed in both Hong Kong and the US.

A statement released by AsiaSat said that Falun Gong promotional broadcasts started aboard the company's 3S satellite at 9 p.m. Monday, forcing the company to shut down the TV program broadcast to some Chinese mainland provinces.

The statement said it strongly condemns this deliberate interference and reserves the right to bring the perpetrators to justice.
