Jiao, a native of Hubei Province and a worker of the Shide Garment Factory in Huizhou, Guangdong Province, thought that he reached the highest level in practicing "Falun Gong." On April 9, 2000, he ripped open his abdomen with a knife to remove the "Wheel of the Law." He was promptly sent to hospital and saved from the jaws of death.
