At 23 o'clock, Grandpa Zhang, a resident in Dongcheng District, Beijing, was awakened by telephone rings. It was a recorded phone message, saying that Falun Gong practitioners had suffered persecution. Grandpa Zhang hung up the receiver and reported it to the relevant authorities. In those days, many organizations and residents in Beijing had received such harassing calls late at nights.
The residents were very furious, "Such an inhuman behavior, it has badly disturbed our normal life!"
Investigation indicated that the harassing calls were made by overseas Falun Gong members via IP cards. According to the Cult Problems Prevention and Treatment Office of Beijing Municipal Government, overseas Falun Gong followers committed many such offences by way of high technologies. In some areas, Falun Gong members even spread cult materials with group message dissemination. Since the latter half of 2001, overseas Falun Gong followers started making harassing phone calls via IP cards. The facts indicated that the Falun Gong addicts, led by Li Hongzhi, would never lie down to their failure and continue to disrupt the normal life of residents in many ways. Citizens should keep guard against such fallacies and retroactive propagandizing of the cult Falun Gong.
