Chinese officials have claimed that there is no so-called concentration camp for Falun Gong followers existing in China.

The remarks come after overseas Falun Gong followers spread information that more than 6,000 Falun Gong practitioners were imprisoned in a Concentration Camp in China, and that many of them were cremated and their organs were harvested.

Our reporter Na Lan has more.

Reporter:
The so-called Concentration Camp was claimed by overseas Falun Gong followers to be located in the Su Jia Tun District of Shenyang in northeastern China.

Zheng Bing, an official with the Su Jia Tun district, expressed huge indignation towards the Falun Gong organization.

“These lies are not only defaming to the District of Su Jia Tun and the city of Shenyang, but they also defame Liaoning Province and the whole nation.”

Overseas Falun Gong practitioners even have claimed that the concentration camp conducts its operations at the district's Su Jia Tun Thrombosis Hospital.

However, Zhang Yuqin, Vice President of Su Jia Tun Thrombosis Hospital, briefed what she says is the institution's real situation, that its services far deficient from being able to conduct all of the operations such as organ transplants mentioned by the overseas Falun Gong followers.

"The fabrication they made up is ridiculous. Our hospital is only a district-level hospital with 300 beds for patients and it is impossible for us to hold 6000 people. Also, we do not have facilities such as a basement and body incinerator, which was mentioned in the rumor made by the Falun Gong organization, neither have we done any organ transplant operations."

The hospital has severely denounced the rumor spreaders and it says it may now hold the media that have spread the rumor and viciously slandered their institution, legally responsible.
