Li Hongzhi had promised to Dafa disciples that when they reach "Consummation," they may "enter the heavenly paradise." Then, by what method can the disciples achieve Consummation?
Li Hongzhi says:
"Karma resulting from past wrongdoing, one has illnesses or tribulations,... We human beings have developed to this extent today, and almost everyone has karma built upon karma – everyone's body has a pretty big amount of karma."
"Suffering is repaying a karmic debt, and thus nobody can casually change this. Changing it means that one would not have to repay the debt after being in debt, and this cannot be done at will. Doing otherwise is the same as committing a bad deed."
"For us cultivators, other than the karma Master has eliminated, we still have to pay a portion ourselves. You will thus feel physically uncomfortable, as if you were suffering from sickness. Cultivation practice is to cleanse you from your life's origin."
"There are altogether two major levels (excluding practicing qi). One is In-Triple-World-Fa (Shi-Jian-Fa) cultivation practice, while the other is Beyond-Triple-World-Fa (Chu-Shi-Jian-Fa) cultivation practice...In the course of In-Triple-World-Fa cultivation practice one's body will be constantly purified, it will be completely replaced by the high-energy matter when one reaches the highest form of In-Triple-World-Fa. Juman cells will be gradually replaced by the high-energy matter...And your body will never degenerate."
Trusting the above, Dafa disciples believe that they themselves are carrying so large amount of "Karma" that they need to follow instructions of Li Hongzhi that "Master eliminates the Karma," "Suffering is to repay the Karma" and "Elimination of Karma may purify oneself and achieving Consummation." They don't try to have medical cure when sick, calling which "eliminating karma," and "purifying body." Some even think they have already got "abody that will never degenerate" and will not be hurt in fast or jumping from a height. They take lost of their lives as reaching "Consummation," Falun Gong cultivator Zhang Yidong fell in cancer, but she did not go to hospital to have medical cure, expecting to reach a "Consummation by eliminating Karma." Li Hongzhi disappointed her until her death. In her dying words, she told here sister: "I wish I could live a normal life." (Please refer to Case 6) Another Falun Gong cultivator Ma Xiangjin, thinking he has already got "a body that will never degenerate," jumped from the top of a high building to show the world the power of Dafa, but instead of reach Consummation, he has only got a life time deformity. (Please refer to Case 7)
In order to make Dafa disciples follow himself firmly although their live, Li Hongzhi says:
"If this sentimentality is not relinquished, you will be unable to practice cultivation."
"Cultivate away fame, material interest, and emotion, Reach Consummation, ascending the firmament."
"If you can let go of life and death, you're a God; if you can't let go of life and death, you're a human."
Of course, Li Hongzhi knows how difficult it is to drop out "fame, interest and emotion" for common people, so he says:
"As a matter of fact, when you agonize over infringements upon your reputation, self-interest, and feelings among everyday people, it already indicates that you cannot let go of ordinary human attachments. You must remember this: Cultivation itself is not painful – the key lies in your inability to let go of ordinary human attachments. Only when you are about to let go of your reputation, interests, and feelings will you feel pain...you don't let go of those filthy things that you cling to in this filthy world, and you even agonize over the most trivial losses."
"But as a cultivator you can't confuse yourself with an everyday person. To put it a bit seriously, you're no longer human...humans have various emotions and desires, and live for emotion (qing). During the course of cultivation you are gradually taking these things more lightly and gradually letting go of them until you completely discard them."
Since emotion is the fetter of cultivation and the obstacle of reaching "Consummation," then anyone who cannot drop emotion will not reach "Consummation."
Therefore, the cultivators try their best to get rid of all kinds of emotions in the world. However hard it is when dropping emotions, they have to do whatever they can to "pass the barrier of emotion." However, to love is human. No single Dafa member had ever drop human emotion – if he can, he had already dropped his emotion to Li Hongzhi and Dafa at all.
And according to Li Hongzhi, anyone who has emotion will be impossible to reach "Consummation." But the fact is that when Li Hongzhi says "drop out fame, interest and emotion," he actually means that the Dafa disciples shall only crazy about his Falun Gong. A Falun Gong cultivator Guo Rong had given his "fame, interest and emotion" up in order to reach "Consummation," but he failed, getting nothing but being almost isolated. He said when recovered from bewilderment, that "Li Hongzhi's advocating of 'droping out fame, interest and emotion' was like harmful poison which made me calloused and nearly became a waste!"(Please refer to Case 8)
When Li Hongzhi requests his disciples to abandon fame, interest and emotion, he emphasizes that they should give up "emotion between husband and wife," and mainly referring to "abstinency." He says:
"You cannot cultivate well if you have not yet abstained emotion or sex. Right in the midst of ordinary people you have to get rid of every bit of all those bad thoughts you have, and that's the only way you can improve and go up. You have to give up all human emotion and lust, that's the only way you can improve yourself and reach the highest realm."
"Those who are attached to lust are no different from wicked people. While meditating the scriptures, they even cast furtive glances; they are far from the Dao and are wicked, everyday people. "
Although Li Hongzhi requests his disciples to reach Consummation by "abstinency," it is hard for normal human beings to suffer from "lust." But Consummation cannot be reached if one cannot "abstain sex" and strangle human nature. Xiaomei, a Falun Gong practitioner, fearing lust might impede her cultivation, and even draw her to the hell, she chose to leave her family so as to abstain sex. (Please refer to Case 9)
"Cultivate until not one attachment is left," so says Li Hongzhi to Dafa disciples again and again. But how many Dafa disciples have actually cultivated and eliminated any attachment?
Li Hongzhi requests Dafa disciples to drop all and every attachment (including body and life), he says:
"It is in fact time to let go of your last attachments. As cultivators, you already know that you should, and in your actions you have, let go of all worldly attachments (including the attachment to the human body) and have made it through the process of letting go of life and death."
When Dafa disciples fail to reach "Consummation" even after they have abandoned every attachment, Li Hongzhi throws out his saying "searching inside."
"When you have problem, search inside for your answer, this is the core difference between Dafa disciples and normal people.
But how to search and what are supposed to be the attachments that shall be abandoned?
"Human beings acquire many notions in this world and are, as a consequence, driven by these notions to pursue what they yearn for...So those so-called 'beautiful dreams and wishes' become pursuits that can never be realized, despite painful attachments."
"Human society is a good place for cultivation, since everything here can lead to attachments. Precisely because of this, a person who is able to step out of it and get rid of all his attachments to human society is magnificent and is able to reach Consummation."
"The entire cultivation process for a practitioner is one of constantly giving up human attachments."
According to Li Hongzhi's theory of "searching inside, Consummation by eliminating attachments," the said "attachments" include anything good that human pursue, such as happy life, good emotion, and healthy body, etc. So long as any Dafa disciple is alive, he has some sort of "attachment." It seems the poor Dafa disciple could never stop searching his "attachments" until his death. However, how could he reach "Consummation" without eliminating all attachments?
The cultivator has to continuously "search inside," only to make themselves lose normal sense, lose normal capacity to distinguish and analyze, and become:
"Lack rationality" - with nothing but "Consummation" is expected, no one but Master Li is respected, no emotion but lust to Falun Dafa. Accordingly, some disciples refuse to go for a doctor when they are sick and die finally of disease; some disciples cultivate only to become mentally collapsed and even become murderer; some disciples try Male-Female Dual Cultivation or even group coition to improve their efficacy of cultivation.
"Acting and talking senselessly" – some disciples think himself born from the universe (master soul), disregard family love, recognize no relative in human beings, or even taking killing lives as "Consummation by releasing people from suffering."
"Losing sense of reason" - "look outward" said to be "persecuted by the government," "seek outwardly" said to be "intolerable," and even kill people for "eliminating the devil."
But even these advanced Dafa practitioners cannot get away from the doomed Fa-rectification according to the recent lections of Li Hongzhi.
"Fa-rectification is in its final stage, and the disruptive factors in the cosmos are dragging those who have failed to be diligent out from among the ranks of practitioners, such as those who 1) lack rationality; 2) act and talk senselessly; and 3) have not removed their attachments, which have increasingly expanded, leading these practitioners to have a strong tendency to look outward and seek outwardly, losing their sense of reason."
Following the spirit of Li Hongzhi that "the course of cultivation is a course to let go of ordinary human attachments," Falun Gong practitioner Wang Jindong's enviable family, gradually dispatched from normal life and became enslaved to the spiritual control of Falun Gong. He Haihua, Wang's wife loved watching TV programs. When Wang Jindong heard Li Hongzhi's wording "your time is running out, be diligent in cultivation," he forbad her watching TV any more. He Haihua liked reading magazines, Wang said "why don't read Dafa." He even requested her to stop eating her favorite chilli so as to get rid of "human attachments." His daughter Wang Juan, a vivacious and cheerful girl, loved singing and facial care before the family started the Gong cultivation. Afterwards, her father required her to let go these "attachments." Therefore, she tried her best to constrain herself, "dare not laugh, and dare not sing." Clamored by Li Hongzhi, on January 23, 2001, pushed by Li Hongzhi's repeated wording "let go the last attachment," under the bewitchment of heresies "ascension" and "Consummation," Wang Jindong and his caboodle started up a tragedy of the appealing "self-immolation affair at Tian'anmen Square," resulting death of two people and seriously wounded of three. Wang Jindong and the other practitioners paid too disastrous price for "Consummation" but gained nothing. (Please refer to Case 10)
Li Hongzhi says：
"If you can let go of life and death, you're a God; if you can't let go of life and death, you're a human."
"It is in fact time to let go of your last attachments. As cultivators, you already know that you should, and in your actions you have, let go of all worldly attachments (including the attachment to the human body) and have made it through the process of letting go of life and death."
"Regardless whether they are put in jail or lost a human life for cultivation of Fa, they all gain Consummation."
Amongst the heresies of Li Hongzhi, the theory of "Consummation" is the most cheating one. Lured by all good prospects of the "Consummation" promised by Li Hongzhi, "Consummation" becomes the only pursuit of Falun Gong practitioners. In pursuit of "Consummation," the Dafa disciples eliminate their human nature by abandon their family, trample laws, or even risk their own lives by ultra manners such as self immolation and paunch to get rid of all human attachments (including life itself). There are examples:
Gao Encheng, an employee of Industrial and Commercial Administration Office at Tianbai Township, Kai County in Chongqing, started practice Falun Gong with his wife in 1997, believing that they will "return to the original true self" and "raise to heaven after death." On November 6, 1998, 10 o'clock in the morning, he jumped from his home at 4th floor holding his son Gao Xiong in arm. Gao Encheng died in hospital. The child was saved.
On the night of August 29, 1998, Wang Yuzhi, an employee of Shanmushu Coal Mine, Furong Mines Bureau, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, said to her husband at home: "I'm going up to the heaven, after I count 9, I will fly." Then she lied down and started counting "1, 2, 3..." But she did not fly after counting. She wandered all day with vague emotion in her face. The very next day, she hung her self at home.
Falun Gong practitioners lapse into the illusion of "Consummation" that Li Honghi promised, believing that they will "go up to the heaven after death" and death is "nothing but abandon one flesh body," finally kill their own lives.
On July 10, 1998, Feng Shaobao who had practiced "Falun Dafa" for four years hung himself. Feng Shaobao had once worked at Xinhua Shipyard in Nanjing. In his Falun Gong practice diary he wrote, "Who are our relatives? Our real parents are looking at us from Paradise, they expect us to return home. We all want to go back..." Feng Shaobao told his wife before he killed himself, "If I have been off for 48 hours and do not return, I will definitely arrive in Paradise at that time."
To fetch up his promise of "Consummation" that is proved cannot be reached by dropping life and death, Li Hongzhi released a "Consummation by saving beings from suffering" in his Touring North America to Teach the Fa in March, 2002:
"So for you, personal Consummation is minor, your cultivation is absolutely not a personal, simple matter of reaching Consummation."
Thereafter, in July of 2002, this theory was further supplemented in International Fa Conference in Washington DC:
"Right now, your Consummation is first and foremost. Of course, your being responsible to Dafa and saving sentient beings is part of your Consummation."
On April 22, 2003, he alleged at Teaching and Explaining the Fa at the Metropolitan New York Fa Conference:
"As you already know, Dafa disciples have gone through the process of Consummation, and history today has bestowed upon Dafa disciples an even greater responsibility: not your own liberation and Consummation, but saving more sentient beings. That's why you deserve to be Dafa disciples."
On November 21, 2004, Li Hongzhi emphasized in his Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York:
"Before long everything will change, but as Dafa disciples, you can't waver in any way before Consummation...Your cultivation's goal goes beyond self-Consummation, as you are to save sentient beings, and you are helping the lives of the future to establish that future."
On July 22, 2007, Li Hongzhi said in Fa Teaching at the U.S. Capital:
"Aside from what you as individuals need to go through and establish on your final road to Consummation, what is most important for you and most significant right now is to save people."
Therefore, according to Li Hongzhi, none of the Dafa disciples is cultivating for himself, but for the beings in one of the numberless huge cosmic bodies that he is representing instead. If any disciple failed in his cultivation, the beings in the cosmic body represented by him will be doomed eternally.
Any disciple who wishes to reach "Consummation" must "save all beings from suffering." In case any being has not been saved, the disciple is not able to reach Consummation. Considering the 6 billion human beings all around the world, it is a question when each of them could possibly be saved.
By setting "saving beings" as a requirement and condition of "Consummation," Li Hongzhi completed his transfer from "Personal Consummation" to "Common Consummation by rescuing beings," once again finding a new bailment for his promises. However, once again the "Consummation" expected by disciples becomes too far away.
Li Hongzhi once said, "I knew at the very beginning that the old forces would interfere this. Their interference seems stochastic but in fact ordered. The difficulties and tests that our students met in this world were actually arranged by these old forces." "The evil party launches the persecution against Falun Gong, disturbing people in this world to prevent them from knowing the truth, thus it is the worst evil being. In Fa-rectification, you must eliminate the interference of the 'evil beings' and their interference."
By this token, in order to shift off his responsibility for the disciples who cannot reach "Consummation," Li Hongzhi fabricated the "old forces" that never exists and the two jins, "good" and "evil," thereby push the responsibility of the disciples cannot reaching "Consummation" to the fabricated "old forces."
If some Dafa disciples cannot get what they wish in their daily life, or if some are self-contemptuous a depressed, and wish to pursue relief, they may do whatever to seek an instant "Consummation," get rid of the predicament and reach the realm of "great freedom." When he heard that the "Consummation" that they've been expected is interfered by the "devils" fabricated by Li Hongzhi, the only choice left for them is to reach Consummation by eliminating devils.
But how should they eliminate the devils? Li Hongzhi says:
"If the evil has already reached the point where it is unsavable and unkeepable, then various measures at different levels can be used to stop it and eradicate it...Completely eliminating the evil is for Fa-rectification, and not a matter of personal cultivation."
In the "International Fa Conference in Washington DC," Li Hongzhi indicated that the greatest obstacles are "the law and the current government."
Therefore, some Dafa disciples take anyone who interfere their Fa cultivation for "devil," and they use "various measures at different levels" to "stop and eradicate" the evils so as to "cultivate to high levels." Thus they harmed many innocent lives. On April 22, 2002, a Falun Gong practitioner Guan Shuyun in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, carried out her "eradication of devils," strangling her 9-year-old daughter Dai Nan to death before the eyes of scores of people!
