Li Hongzhi promises that Dafa disciples who follow his words may reach "Consummation," but when could they reach Consummation? Has there ever been any one who has already achieved Consummation?
Regarding the time of "Consummation," there is a process that Li Hongzhi develops his theory. The concept of Consummation time was ambiguous in his early days of teaching, such as "Consummation by two years of cultivation," and "your last chance to reach Consummation," "10 years to Consummation" is the most definite concept of the Consummation time promised by Li Hongzhi, and the most significant method of his cheating and control, which deeply influences Dafa disciples. Li Hongzhi vows solemnly to his adherents that cultivation of Falun Gong may enable them to become god or Buddha by most expeditious way (i.e., to believe in Falun Gong, buy his books and read repeatedly, Consummation can be thereby achieved within 10 years. Sounds shorter than any other religious or "Cultivation"), to become god and Buddha in a bunch (according to Li Hongzhi, all of his disciples will reach Consummation). Now that ten years' cultivation is almost done, and the dreamed "Consummation by ten years' cultivation" is going to be failed. Therefore Li Hongzhi had to change his "Personal Consummation" into "Common Consummation by rescuing beings" in his Touring North America to Teach the Fa.
Li Hongzhi "showed" and started teaching Fa in 1992, and mentioned "Consummation" in his so-called Lunyu (On Buddha Law):
"Mankind will make a leap forward if it can take a fresh look at itself and at the universe, changing its rigid way of thinking...Throughout the ages, only the Buddha Fa has been able to perfectly provide a clear exposition of humanity, every dimension of material existence, life, and the entire universe."
Later he wrote in the poem Assimilation:
"Scriptures cultivate one's heart, exercises refine one's body; One day upon Consummation, truthfulness, compassion and tolerance stays."
On February 18, 1993, Li Hongzhi wrote in the poem Learning Da Fa**:
"Inborn quality is a condition from birth, right enlightenment is the reason for a high-level person's wisdom. With truthfulness, compassion and tolerance in the heart, there is Dao, Cultivating Falun Dafa can lead to consummation."
During this period, Li Hongzhi hadn't prescripted how many people and when could they reach Consummation, but merely set Consummation as a goal.
But after 1996, Li Hongzhi has dropped hints several times that "Personal Consummation is approaching."
"The time for actual cultivation in studying Dafa is limited."
"I have taught the Fa for two years, and I have given disciples two years to practice cultivation."
"A large number of disciples have now achieved or are about to achieve Consummation. How solemn it is for a human being to achieve Consummation! Nothing in this world could be more wonderful, glorious, or magnificent."
"Enlightenment is also called the Awakening of Wisdom. In our Dafa it is called the Unlocking of Gong; that is, one has reached Consummation through cultivation, finished the entire course of cultivation, and is about to go to a heavenly paradise...Because some disciples have come from very high dimensions to obtain the Fa, they will become Enlightened very soon. The two-year time for cultivation practice that I mentioned was for these disciples. But all of our Dafa disciples have indeed made rapid progress in true cultivation. Many of them will soon become enlightened, which used to be beyond the imagination of cultivators. I hope everyone will maintain a peaceful mind and make continual progress with perseverance. As each person reaches Consummation, I will receive and deliver each."
4.3 "The chance to reach the final Consummation"
Around ten thousand of Falun Gong practitioners besieged Zhongnanhai on April 25, 1999. There were so many of theming came because Li Hongzhi specifically instructed Wang Zhiwen and Yao Jie when they notified practitioners all around the country to come to Zhongnanhai, they should emphasize that, "This is the chance to reach the final Consummation."
Ten thousand of them besieged Zhongnanhai, but none reached Consummation. When the Chinese government legally banned Falun Gong on July 22, 1999, his adherents started to doubt Consummation. Withal, Mr. Li exculpated:
"Despite this, and the situation in which a large number of disciples who are true cultivators are suffering severe hardships, the time of conclusion has been repeatedly postponed so as to wait for those people to recognize their own fundamental attachments. This is because many among them are predestined and have the potential to reach Consummation...Dafa has already consummated everything in the cosmos...Disciples are waiting to reach Consummation, and I can wait no more."
"Think about it, everyone: in the past, a person had to go through a lifetime of cultivation or even several lifetimes, yet today we're having people reach Consummation in as little as a few years. The process of enduring is but a brief moment, and besides, time has been accelerated."
4.4 "Consummation by ten years cultivation"
After that, Li Hongzhi hinted repeatedly that the Consummation was just around the corner and gave the detailed promise in his lection The Blessings From Dafa on May 19, 2002: "Master has spread Dafa for ten years. Even in the human world, predestinations have been greatly changed. The comet catastrophe predestined in history is no more, the third world war has been averted, and the peril in 1999 from the cycle of formation-stasis-degeneration-destruction of Heaven and Earth will never recur. The Fa-rectification of the human world is on the verge of arriving."
The Blessings From Dafa is published exactly ten years after the publication of Lunyu (On Buddha Law), which means the said "Master has spread Dafa for ten years" by Li Hongzhi and that "the Fa-rectification of the human world is on the verge of arriving," namely the "Consummation" is approaching.
In The Blessings From Dafa, Li Hongzhi aims to declare to his disciples that: the "Consummation by ten years cultivation" is approaching, which is the theory of "Consummation by ten years cultivation." From then on, the Dafa practitioners believe that Consummation will be approached by ten years' cultivation, and accelerate their preparation to receive the coming "Consummation."
However the temporary excitement of Dafa disciples die rapidly as time goes by. They become lather for the "Consummation by ten years cultivation" promised by Li Hongzhi could not be realized. To rescue his lies, in March 2002, Li Hongzhi shifted his wording in the Touring North America to Teach the Fa:
"Don't worry that it will take a long time. I can tell you that Christianity rose after three hundred years of persecution. Is a Dafa disciple, with his important mission, not as good as an ordinary cultivator? What's crucial is how we understand things. Let me ask you, if it would take another ten years to save all sentient beings, would you still do it?"
Obviously, when Li Hongzhi said, "Let me ask you, if it would take another ten years to save all sentient beings, would you still do it?" he actually left the evidence for the "Consummation by ten years cultivation" promised by himself. The altered wording "don't worry that it will take a long time" means the promised "Master has spread Dafa for ten years" and that "the Fa-rectification of the human world is on the verge of arriving" completely falling through.
"For an ordinary person who has done something good for Dafa during this period, at this critical time, it's possible for even that person to reach Consummation as a god, let alone you, who are cultivating in the Dafa."
"Most all of the entire cosmos has been completed in Fa-rectification...Between the old and new cosmos, the new cosmos was ever gaining in weight, and the part that had gone through Fa-rectification was ever increasing...the formation of the new cosmos is basically fully done...And when all of those things are resolved, the last stage of Fa-rectification will draw to a close."
"Today is the final moment that concludes arrangements that are eons old...you are now Dafa disciples who have made it through, and you are Dafa disciples who will soon achieve Consummation...As the Fa-rectification constantly forges ahead, the surface dimension has the look of something that would be punctured from just a little poke...You have already made it through the hardest part of your cultivation, so walk well the final leg of your journey."
Ten years passed since Li Hongzhi promised "Consummation by ten years cultivation," yet none of his adherents has reached the prospected "Consummation." Although Li Hongzhi is still using "Consummation" in luring Dafa disciples, but he no longer promises an exact time of Consummation, which becomes far way to go.
When Dafa disciples find they could not achieve the "Consummation" that they've been dreaming of, their doubt to Li Hongzhi increase. In March, 2002, Li Hongzhi threw out his "Common Consummation by rescuing beings" – Dafa disciples are cultivating to rescue beings and the personal Consummation and personal cultivation is over:
"You are saving even more and even larger additional cosmic bodies...A Dafa disciple's responsibilities aren't for the sake of personal Consummation, but to save sentient beings while validating the Fa – that is a Dafa disciple's historic mission."
By throwing out the saying "Common Consummation by rescuing beings," Li Hongzhi endlessly postpone the time and extend the place of "Consummation," thus drawing the practitioners into endless cultivation.
On November 21, 2004, Li Hongzhi said to his disciples in Teaching the Fa at the 2004 International Fa Conference in New York: "Your cultivation's goal goes beyond self-Consummation, as you are to save sentient beings."
- Li Hongzhi shifts the "final chance of Consummation" into the starting time of "saving sentient beings"!
On February 26, 2005, Li Hongzhi said in Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference: "Fa-Rectification Period Dafa Disciples have enormous responsibilities...Our work is not yet completely done, though, and in terms of personal cultivation, each step might."
- Li Hongzhi changes his methods, telling his disciples if they wish to reach personal Consummation they shall first have the said "work" done.
On May 27, 2006, Li Hongzhi so wrote in his letter to "the Ukraine Fa Conference": "The Consummation of Fa-rectification Period Dafa Disciples is Dafa creating the Great Enlightened Beings of the new cosmos, so this makes your responsibilities that much greater. As you progress in cultivation, your mission of saving beings and dissolving the evil and the old factors' interference will naturally converge with your cultivation."
- Now Li Hongzhi starts to request his disciples to complete their responsibilities of "saving beings and dissolving the evil and the old forces' interference" before they could ever reach Consummation!
On February 26, 2005, Li Hongzhi said in Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference: "From the beginning I knew that the old forces would interfere with this...The different tribulations and tests our disciples have gone through in this world are exactly the arrangement of these old forces."
- Thus, Li Hongzhi pushs the responsibility of not reaching Consummation to the said "old forces."
On February 26, 2008, Li Hongzhi wrote in his "lection" Sifting of the Sand, the disciples who "lack rationality," who "act and talk senselessly" and those who "have not removed their attachments, which have increasingly expanded, leading these practitioners to have a strong tendency to look outward and seek outwardly to be washed out."
- He has once promised that all disciples may reach Consummation, now begins to wash out part of the Dafa disciples!
On May 24, 2008, Li Hongzhi said again in the "New York Conference": "Whether your motive is to save sentient beings, to validate the Fa, or to make progress in your own cultivation, they are ordeals all the same. They aren't supposed to make way for you just because you think, 'I'm doing this for Dafa' or 'I'm doing this to save sentient beings.'"
- Thus, Li Hongzhi requires the Dafa disciples suffering all ordeals, if they wish to reach Consummation, they should follow the requirement of Li Hongzhi to "search inwards" and "cultivate inversely."

Through the above four parts of analysis to Li Hongzhi's main discussion regarding "Consummation," one may possibly understand why Dafa disciples are so strongly attracted by Consummation. From the methods of "Consummation" that Li Hongzhi proposed, one may possibly how extremely uncertain it is for Dafa disciples to reach "Consummation." From the results of Li Hongzhi's "Consummation," one may possibly see the illusion nature of the "Consummation" expected by Dafa disciples. From the time of "Consummation" promised by Li Hongzhi, one may possibly see the cheating nature of Li Hongzhi's theory of "Consummation."
Then, what exactly is the "Consummation" promised by Li Hongzhi to Dafa disciples?
