Ⅱ What is the Attitude of Falun Gong toward Morality?
Morality is concerned with the judgment of what is good or bad. It is a set of rules of behavior to normalize the relation among people and between individuals and society. Morality is maintained primarily by self consciousness of people. Falun Gong appears to "promote morals" and "teach people to seek after the good", but what it has done is quite the opposite. Especially it can be seen from the case analysis of Falun Gong victims that the victims lost their responsibility for the family and social morals when they were obsessed with Falun Gong. In order to seek Consummation, they became ignorant of family love and affection and careless about their kin and friends. Some Falun Gong followers even left alone their aged parents in hospital; some didn't take care of their kids crying for food. Some claimed "to be good," but didn't give a hand to those in trouble, and even worse, they were glad to see others in trouble. Some said No Sex to his or her spouse, but conducted "Male-Female Dual Cultivation" with other followers. These immoral behaviors reveal that so-called "promoting moral" and "teach people to seek after the good" is nothing but a logo used by Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong to attract people and deceive the public. And then what is the attitude of Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong toward human morals?
Li Hongzhi coins and spreads his theories such as "there is no real relative in the world," "human is garbage" and "going up to the Paradise to reach Consummation." Encouraged by Li's theories, Falun Dafa followers refuse to accept their kin and friends and look down upon non-Falun Gong people, and even isolate themselves from human love and restrain themselves from the human desires.
First of all, Li Hongzhi spreads such an idea that there is no real relative in the human world.
"In this life you are my family member, but in the next life who knows who we will be related to. Just in this lifetime is our relationship predestined. It's just like staying at an inn: you lodge there briefly for a night and then part ways the next day. Who could possibly take someone else's place?"
"The one who gives birth to your Primordial Spirit is your real mother. In the course of samsara, you have had mothers who were human and non-human, and there are too many of them to be numbered... Who is your mother? Who is your son and daughter? No one knows it after one passes away... I would say that this is your wishful thinking. You're unable to interfere with the lives of others and neither can you control other's fates, including those of your wife, sons, daughters, or brothers. Can you decide those things?"
Now that the earthly mother is not the true mother, she has neither kin with the Falun Gong practitioner nor deep love as mother and child, how can the Falun Gong follower cherish the love and treat well his relatives? Moreover, knowing that his true mother is there in the universe waiting for him to come, how can Falun Gong followers spend time with their relatives and take care of them?
For example, Guo Rong, the victim mentioned in "Let Go of Fame, Interest and Emotion" Ruined Me, used to be a filial son to his parents and took good care of his parents. But after he jointed the Falun Gong, he never came to his parents, let alone took care of their life. His parents said angrily that Falun Gong deprived them of their son.
Secondly, Li Hongzhi propagates the theory of human society being garbage.
He said："The earth is at the center of the universe and the earth is a garbage dump."
"A person's earliest life comes from the universe. As humans were selfish and did evil deeds, they dropped from the high level to the lower level and finally went down to the Earth, the garbage dump of the universe...Those lives should have been destructed in the viewpoint of great Enlightened Beings or by the reason of functions."
"Now...society as a whole is declining...you will see even from not too high a level that today's people and the human society rather frightening! It is truly terrifying! You will find that mankind today are indeed full of all the ten sins."
"In this enormous universe Earth looks just like an apple – an apple which has become rotten inside and out. Just like every individual human being, every particle inside of this apple is rotten."
"In regard to humans, when this cultivation ends, this environment won't be needed anymore. The humans that are left over will be vile human beings...; when humans aren't good they are eliminated."
Now, since that the earth is a garbage dump and today's human society is full of sins like a rotten apple, it is natural for the Falun Gong practitioners to look down upon human society, how can they value the affection and love between ordinary people?
In addition, Li Hongzhi widely spreads the idea that ardor is an obstacle to practicing cultivation.
"You cannot practice well if you don't get rid of love and desire and still think as ordinary people. Only when you have removed the bad ideas from your brain can you be lifted up. Only after you have abandoned all the human affection and desires can you go up to the higher level and finally the supreme realm."
"They (human beings) live just for this sentimentality. Affection among family members, love between a man and a woman, love for parents, feelings, friendship, doing things for friendship, and everything else all relate to this sentimentality...If this sentimentality is not relinquished, you will be unable to practice cultivation."
"But as a cultivator you can't confuse yourself with an everyday person. To put it a bit seriously, you're no longer human...Humans have various emotions and desires, and live for emotion. During the course of cultivation you are gradually taking these things more lightly and gradually letting go of them until you completely discard them."
"People live to this love and affection, including relatives, affection, parents' love, emotion, friendship, they do things because of love and affection, love and affection is everywhere...If this sentimentality is not relinquished, you will be unable to practice cultivation."
"What do the old forces and the old cosmos see as the gravest thing? Lust...In other words, these things are extremely serious to them. So the old forces and all of the gods in that cosmos will not defend anyone who violates the prohibition on this, anyone who doesn't do well in this regard; in fact they will push you downwards."
"Cultivate away fame, material interest and emotion, reach consummation, ascending the firmament."
According to Li's theories, the "sensual desire" is a hurdle of cultivation and an obstacle to Consummation. If one has strong sensual desire, he cannot practice well and will be repelled by the old forces and the gods in that universe. For this reason, Dafa followers, in order to reach the highest realm, the Consummation, will no longer take responsibility for the family and some refuse to have sexual intercourse with their spouse, even leave the family.
The victim Li Xiuzhu mentioned inTrue Stories I Personally Experienc While "Spreading the Fa" witnessed such cases with her own eyes: Some couples left their 10 years old kid to their 80 years old mother to practice for Consummation. They never thought of how the old and the young could live, and even they boasted such a behavior in their circle to prove that they have severed the human affection.
The victim Dai Hongjin, mentioned in I Cheated by the Instructor, listened to and believed in the instructor's lie to reach Consummation. In order to practice while keep a virgin body, she restrained herself from sex and left her husband unattended.
The victim Xiaomei, mentioned in Male-Female Dual Cultivation Spoils Her Happiness, refused to have sex with her husband in order to practice cultivation. She regarded her husband as garbage and left him alone. Finally she took a leave from home.
Li Hongzhi says many a time that male-female dual cultivation can purify the body and improve one's power of Gong.
"In the community of cultivators, there is a cultivation practice called double cultivation of a man and a woman. Double cultivation of a man and a woman is for collecting yin to supplement yang and vice versa with mutual complement for mutual cultivation, enabling the goal of balancing yin and yang to be achieved. Because a human body inherently has yin and yang, with the interactions of yin and yang, it can itself achieve a balance of yin and yang; it can thus give birth to many living beings."
"We have discovered that nowadays a lot of men have female master soul, while a lot of women have male master souls. That fit exactly the celestial phenomenon in which the yin and yang are reversed, where yin is prospering and yang is in decline, as Taoists put it," "When conjoining the hand, the left hand is on top for males, while the right hand is on top for males. Why is that? It's because the male body is one of pure yang and the female body is one of pure yin. In order to attain a balance of yin and yang, males should suppress the yin and give play to the yin, while females should suppress the yin and give play to the yang."
"Buddhas and Gods don't have ordinary human emotion, nor do they have an ordinary human way of thinking or the notions that are in ordinary human's understanding of things."
It is just because of these statements by Li Hongzhi that many Falun Gong practitioners look down upon the normal man and wife sexual life and are indulged in Male-Female dual cultivation, as advocated by Li, may promote the course of reaching Consummation. For this reason, the male and female practitioners live together to practice dual cultivation or group cultivation. This behavior is opposite to human morality and hurts man and wife emotion, and even worse, may lead to family split or other human tragedies.
The victim Xiaomei, mentioned in Male-Female Dual Cultivation Spoils Her Happiness, was a good behavior lady and lived a happy family life. But in order to practice Gong for Consummation, she practiced dual cultivation with another male practitioner. Her action touched the bottom line of marriage morality and brought an end to her marriage and great suffering to herself.
For another example, in the first half of the year 2004, Falun Gong follower Wang Xiaoyu, male, living in Longjin City, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, practiced dual cultivation with Li Mingying and Li Minghua who are sisters. During Dual Cultivation, the inhumane Wang Xiaoyu first beat the sisters with cudgel on their breast and private parts, and then together with the sisters beat Jing Tao, also a practitioner, the husband of Li Mingying to death with cudgels. The Dual Cultivation resulted in a death of a man.
Li Hongzhi advocates such a theory that disasters are all caused by one's Karma. One will be eliminated when his Karma grows big enough.
"If human beings don't do something about it, Heaven will. When mankind has met with catastrophe it's always been under this kind of circumstance."
"The more karma a region has the more disasters to this region."
"When Heaven punishes humans they think it's a natural phenomenon...People don't realize these phenomenon are the warning of gods: 'You cannot do that.' People just take them to be natural phenomenon. Nothing that happens in this world is coincidental. Just take a look: If any nation, region, or individual does something bad, some special phenomenon will immediately follow. Disasters and everything that befalls human are the result of their own conduct...What happens when people on a large scale have accumulated karmas? Earthquakes, fires, floods and even plagues and wars."
As bewitched by such statements as "Karma Elimination and Heaven Punishment," the Falun Gong practitioners gloat over the human disasters and show no mercy.
For example, when the frozen snow disaster stroke south China in the beginning of 2008, Falun Gong followers spread the rumor that "The human rights persecution, torturing and killing Falun Gong practitioners and removing their living organs performed by the Chinese Communist Party have annoyed the Heaven and people."
When a scale 8.0 earthquake hit Wenchuang in Sichuan Province, the Falun Gong practitioners also started a rumor saying "The Heaven declares definitely that it is time for China to make a great change." They even ignored the social ethics to obstacle the endowment drives by oversea Chinese for Sichuan disaster area in New York, USA, which aroused public indignation.
Li Hongzhi preaches that "Man will have karma if he does something bad, and suffering is repaying a karmic debt," he is against helping the disabled persons, against disaster relief and aiding the poor, he even has an objection to blood donation and other deeds to help others in need.
"Due to karma resulting from past wrongdoing, one has illness or tribulations; we human beings have developed to this extent today, and almost everyone has karma built upon karma – everyone's body has a pretty big amount of karma...Suffering is repaying a karmic debt. And thus nobody can casually change this. Changing it means that one would not have to repay the debt after being in debt, and this cannot be done at will. Doing otherwise is the same as committing a bad deed."
"In reality, when human society takes to be truths are, from the perspective of the cosmos, inversions of truth. When humans go through hardship and suffer it is so that they pay off karma and thereby have happiness in the future...Going through hardship and suffering is an outstanding opportunity to remove karma, be cleansed of skin, purify the body, elevate your plane of thought, and rise in level – it is an extraordinarily good thing."
Now that one suffers or experiences hardship is due to his karma he owes others at present or in previous life and suffering is repaying a karmic debt, it is reasonable to say that no one can change it and changing it is equal to not repaying the debt he has owed and to doing something bad. According to Li Hongzhi, one is disabled or short-lived or dead in an accident is because he has done many wrongdoings in his previous life and because he is so evil that he could not clear the karma on him. If one helps the disabled person, "if disabled people have it too easy, then they cannot repay karma. In the next life they might be disabled again."
It is by these theories that Li Hongzhi changes the judgment of practitioners between right and wrong, true and false and good and evil and led the practitioners to unusual thing opposite to the normal criterion. The Falun Gong practitioners never give a hand to those in trouble and even they find an excuse for themselves that "we cannot prevent others from repaying their debt."
For example, the victim Guo Rong in "Let Go of Fame, Interest and Emotion" Ruined Me, stopped donating money or clothes to the disaster areas after being bewitched by Falun Gong. However, before he started to practice Falun Gong he was always ready to donate something for the disaster areas whenever his company organized a charity donation. But after that he thought that a region hit by a natural disaster was because the region had accumulated karma before and deserved to suffer it, and acted as Li Hongzhi required. For this reason, he didn't respond to donation call anymore. Even when the Yangtze valley in south China and Songhua River valley were hit by flood disasters in 1998, he donated nothing.
Li Hongzhi keeps on asking his followers "to be good human beings," why cannot the Dafa disciples be good persons? The victim Li Xiuzhu, mentioned in True Stories I Personally Experience While "Spreading the Fa" felt that she had found the real way of life and would follow it whatever happened after she got convinced in Li Hongzhi's logo of Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance. However, when she was spreading the Fa outside she saw the true face of Falun Gong that puzzled and astonished her. In order to practice cultivation, some practitioners disclaimed their responsibilities as human beings, some left the 10-year-old kid to the 80 aged mother to take care of, some practitioners deserted their 4 months old baby and hid here and there, some practitioners brought their children at school with them to go around, depriving the children's right to education and ruining the future of the children. What made her more painful was to see that in order for such on-the-run practitioners to afford a life, the practitioners who practiced cultivation at home gave their saved money to these people, but they didn't lead lean life but a luxurious life. They often switched houses and changed their mobile phone number, and rented a single room in middle-sized hotel to hold meetings, they wanted more dishes than they needed and had expensive dishes, consumed much more than necessary. All these let Li Xiuzhu know well the "good men" cultivated by Li Hongzhi. After deep thinking, she realized that Li's heresy had ruined the morality of Dafa disciples and then got rid of the control of Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong in a prompt and decisive manner.
The victim Dai Hongjin, mentioned in I Cheated by the Instructor, was cheated by a Falun Gong backbone instructor. In order to practice cultivation while keeping virginal, she refused to have sex life with her husband. But she went to the edge of having it with her instructor, because she was told that male-female dual cultivation may improve the power of Gong and accelerate the process to Consummation.
To top it all, the Dafa disciple Li Guangmin, one of the criminals mentioned inFalun Gong Practitioners Gang Rape Mental Patient, was a senior Falun Gong practitioner in the region where he lived. He was called Li Cifu (to give luck to others) because he was famous in his region for his long history of practicing Falun Gong and his being good at it. He set himself an example of being good man as required by Li's "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" and thought himself a "good man." He propagated here and there Li Hongzhi's theory of "You cannot cultivate yourself well if you don't get rid of affection and desires and let go of ordinary people's feelings. Right in the midst of ordinary people you have to get rid of every bit of all those bad thoughts you have, and that's the only way you can improve and go up. Only you have abandoned all the affections and desires in the world can you go to a higher level and reach the highest realm," etc. Why such a "good man" raped with others a helpless mental patient as he always claimed himself to have gotten rid of the attachments the ordinary people have? Li Guangmin's story revealed the path of Falun Gong followers to committing crimes as they were bewitched by Li's heresy. He said: "Practicing Falun Gong for many years didn't make me a good man who really gave up evil thoughts and selfishness; on the contrary, taking advantage of my influence in cultivation, I blindly ran after fame and wealth, my desire and lust kept growing, too. Gradually, I thought I was at a high level and could break any laws in the world, so I finally lapsed into crime."
