Falun Gong has brought misfortunes to many families. During an interview with Chinese and overseas reporters in a hotel in Kaifeng City, Liu Baorong, He Haihua (Wang Jindong's wife) and his daughter Wang Juan said that they had cast away the nightmare of Falun Gong and led a free life.
Liu Baorong was a Falun Gong practitioner who had participated in the Tian'anmen Square self-immolation incident in 2001, but did not set herself on fire. Her fellow practitioner Wang Jindong, however, was disfigured in the self-immolation incident. Liu ,Wang, He and their daughter were all former Falun Gong practitioners and victims of Tian'anmen Square self-immolation incident. After months' of reform through labour and reeducation, they are now leading free lives.
"I feel as if I am recovered from a serious disease, now my husband loves me more and cares more about my life and my feeling," Said Liu Baorong, an open minded and talkative retired woman. Liu said that her intention of practicing Falun Gong was to make herself good and virtuous. As she liked scientific books and was interested in the universe as well as its evolution, the illusory universe attracted her to seek answer for her questions about it. Her questions about the universe had something to do with some Falun Gong`s viewpoints.That was why she began to believe Falun Gong. As she now had cast off Falun Gong, Liu Baorong got to know that Falun Gong had misled her.
When a reporter asked, "Why did you go to Tian'anmen Square for self-immolation?"
Liu Baorong answered, "I just want to testify whether the law (Fa) works, whether it can help me to achieve consummation or not. We went to Tian'anmen Square because the master(Li Hongzhi) said that Tian'anmen Square is of great power and impact. I have drunk the gasoline but did not set myself on fire. If I did, I shall not be fine today," Her voice was affirmative when referred to her "cowardliness".
Wang Jindong's wife He Haihua said, "Falun Gong bewitches people gradually and imperceptibly. Wang Jindong deserves his punishment since he endangered the society and violated the law. Thanks to the Government`s decision of ban on Falun Gong, which saves and protects many Falun Gong fanatics."
She said that she used to have a happy family and a shopping store at Yujie Street, Henan's Kaifeng City. Since her family started to practice Falun Gong, they disregarded any fame and gain and the store finally closed. She said that at present she had no work and her daily expenditure relied on the income of her 22-year-old daughter Wang Juan who had a casual work.
When getting rid off Falun Gong, she said, "I am very fine and confident in everything after being back to the society. I visit my husband every month and we encourage each other. I am planning to continue the business in Yujie Street when he comes back as he is a gifted man in business. "
Liu Baorong echoed, "Me to. I feel relieved and light without any spiritual burden. "
When a reporter asked Liu Baorong to comment on Li Hongzhi, Liu said, "He had rather betrayed others than been betrayed by others. I don't want to comment on such a man as evidence speaks louder than my words. "
After the interview, Liu Baorong, He Haihua and Wang Juan stepped out of the hotel in light mood.
