To communicate anti-cult knowledge, increase the people’s anti-cult capability and create a favorable social environment for cult prevention and control, an anti-cult warning education base has been recently created in Heli Village, Sanjiang County, Liuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The anti-cult publicity and education activity is organized with the theme of “poverty relief in the context of rural tourism culture and guaranteed peace by advocating science and resisting cults”.
On the basis of traditional publicity and education work, the anti-cult publicity work of Sanjiang County vigorously advances the innovative publicity and education activity and achieves a combination between tradition and innovation in 2017. Heli Village, Liangkou Township of this county works hard to promote the new social media based anti-cult publicity work. Specifically, a series of anti-cult publicity activities are introduced on the WeChat public account, and WeChat groups of three levels of administration including county, township and village, are employed to forward and share the knowledge of relevant laws and regulations. The articles pushed by WeChat public accounts and WeChat groups are read and forwarded by many people, and attract as many as 3000 fans within a short time. Heli Village also highlights the activities of “Families Resisting Cults” and “Anti-cult Knowledge Introduced to Families” online and offline at the same time, and ensures the implementation of those requirements for “Face-to-Face Communication in Each Village Family”. The innovative model of this kind has generated a noticeable result. The “virtual world” is separated from the “real world” and the ultimate result of “nourishing everything silently” is fully exploited to achieve a satisfactory publicity effect. It’s understood that Yang Huiguang, the Secretary of the CPC Heli Village Committee has constantly prevented and resisted cults, and handled the cult prevention and control work in a down-to-earth manner since 1999. He has fulfilled his responsibility as a CPC member in the practical work for a period of 18 years. He has devoted his prime youth to anti-cult work at the grassroots level. He has actively integrated the force of village cadres and CPC members for the past years to make the anti-cult publicity work more effective. For instance, he has created the anti-cult association and organized the anti-cult culture and art team to arrange anti-cult publicity activities in all the cult-free scenic spots, the village and schools. For the purpose of building good folk customs and village atmosphere, and creating the social environment of the cult-free village, he has incorporated the content of anti-cult publicity into the Village Regulations and Villagers’ Agreement, and even included the successful experience of anti-cult publicity work in the Annals of Heli Village. Recently, Heli Village has distributed more than 5000 publicity materials of different kinds and displayed over ten sets of anti-cult photos in the anti-cult publicity activity.
