My name is Samuel Luo and my parents are both Falun Gong practitioners who have been hurt and exploited by this cult. Among the many harms done to them, I have been seriously concerned that they have refused needed medical treatment. In 2002, my step-father initially refused help when he had a stroke and he has suffered painful gout attacks unnecessarily for five years. He did so because he was being brainwashed into believing that Li Hongzhi, the founder and leader of this cult has the power to cure illnesses and taking medicine is counter productive.
The Falun Gong is also extremely homophobic. Li teaches that homosexuality is not the standard of being human, the priority of Gods will be to eliminate homosexuals and that gays are demonic in nature. These teachings are honored by all Falun Gong practitioners. Recently when I confronted my mother with these teachings she said that the elimination of gays is already happening. When I wanted her to give specific examples she said that all the natural disasters that happened recently are directed at corrupt people, gays included.
In my efforts to warn the public about the harmful and cultish nature of Falun Gong, my free speech was suppressed. Last year when the International Cultic Studies Association organized a program on the Falun Gong in which I was one of the presenters, the Falun Gong threatened the organization with a lawsuit and successfully suppressed our freedom of speech.
The Falun Gong is preying on the residents of this city I just want people to know that the Falun Gong is not what they claim to be.

How much do you know about Master Li, the leader of the Falun Gong who has devoted disciples all over the world who view him as a God and Savior
Did you know that some respected American academics and cult experts have concluded that Master Li is a manipulative cult leader
Did you know that the San Francisco Chronicle ran a story about the Falun Gong in which a well-known cult counselor states that Master Li comes very much out of the cult extreme, the authoritarian stereotype.
Did you know that Master Li gave a speech in San Francisco in November, 2005 and said to his followers
…the evil specter has yet to be fully cleaned out, and right now it is still having a very negative effect. Take San Francisco for example. I've found that the environment of the downtown area and that of the whole Bay Area still isn't up to par; the evil factors here are still abundant.
Did you know that in addition to singling out the wicked party in mainland China-which was his focus for the San Francisco speech -- Master Li has also called homosexuality one of the world's ten evils
Did you know that Master Li has said that homosexuals have dark hearts which turn demonic And that homosexuality does not meet the standard of being human Or that the priority of the gods will be to eliminate homosexual people.
In fact, did you know that Master Li has offered his disciples the opportunity of becoming Gods themselves, providing they obey his teachings and go out into the corrupt world of people such as ourselves to clarify the truth of his teachings .
If any of this information comes as news to you, that's not surprising. For years Master Li has told his followers to conceal many of his core teachings when talking to ordinary people. He says his ideas are simply too high for ordinary people to understand. In fact, some of his ideas may even frighten us.
Think about it the Master predicts that the wicked people of the world will be weeded out during his Fa rectification - a period when his great law will judge everyone on earth.
He has all his disciplines believing this stuff, but at the same time he tells them not to share this information with ordinary people because it might upset them.
So what's the big deal you might say. Aren't Li's teaching on homosexuality the same as many other Western religions, including the Roman Catholic Church
Well, yes and no.
Even though the Pope in Rome may believe that homosexuality is an intrinsic moral evil, many practicing Catholics in this country reject the church's dogma on that subject and still consider themselves Christian. Yet in the case of Falun Gong, Master Li, like most cult leaders, does not allow his practitioners the independence of thought to disagree with any aspect of his teachings.
Does this mean that Falun Gong practitioners personally hate homosexuals Of course not. But what it does mean is that they are bound to honor their master's teaching for fear of losing their Master's protection and the hope of reaching consummation.
Am I wrong about this In fact, I would love to be proven wrong on this point here today. I therefore invite any Falun Gong practitioner present to publicly state that they do not agree with Master Li's teachings about homosexuality.
Supervisors, you have a responsibility to represent the interests of people living in San Francisco. However well-intentioned Supervisor Daly's Falun Gong resolution may be, if passed it will help to recruit people into Master Li's cult here in the city.
With that in mind, I strongly encourage you to vote against this divisive and totally unnecessary resolution.

Falun Gong practitioners conceal their core beliefs

In trying to refute my statements about the deceptive nature of the Falun Gong, Mr. Gui proves my point practitioners conceal their core beliefs. Practitioners don't talk about the higher teachings because Master Li does not permit it.

Why should we have to go to the internet to find out Master Li teaches that
Homosexuality is not the standard of being human; most people in society are corrupted, including homosexuals and will be weeded out in his Fa-rectification and as corrupt people are weeded out by Master Li's Dafa, practitioners will become Gods.
Does this sound like the Falun Gong we read about in newspapers Of course not, and that's a tribute to the effectiveness of Master Li's deceptive strategies and the strength of his PR operation in the West.
Mr. Gui states that it is never forbidden in any of Mr. Li's speeches for a Falun Gong practitioner to go to the hospital. While technically true, this statement is intended to deceive the public about one of Master Li's core teachings called sickness karma.
If you are a practitioner, you will not go to the hospital when you are sick because sickness is an opportunity to get rid of bad karma. As Master Li says, Taking medication during cultivation implies that you do not believe in the disease-curing effects of cultivation. If you believed in it, why would you take medication
Falun GongFalun Dafa is not a Qigong exercise with ancient Chinese roots, but rather the worship of a personal God and Savior, Master Li, who proclaims that his Dafa (great law) will clean out the dregs of humanity, while turning his disciples into Gods. Rather than deriving from the compassionate teachings of Buddha, Master Li's Dafa bears greater resemblance to the pre-Nazi era teachings of eugenics.
Mr. Gui When do you think corrupt people will be weeded out in Master Li's Fa-rectification Is it already happening Shall I myself be weeded out because I am a practicing homosexual And when do you, personally, expect to become a God
