Yuan Runtian, a village girl, was a Falun Gong practicer in Lanhe Township of Panyu City, Southern China's Guangdong Province. While practicing, she was obsessed and became to lose her mind.
At 22:00 Feb. 6th, 2000, Yuan broke into childless and infirm old man Huang Daisheng's home and hacked him twice on the face with a knife.
According to Yuan Runtian, she began to practice Falun Gong with a school teacher in the Guangzhou Light Industry School in 1996. She felt vigorous and was able to focus at the beginning. However, she soon disliked to contact with others and turned unsociable, eccentric and introverted.
In March 1999, Yuan graduated and went home. She got a job, but quitted soon after. She refused to do farm work or talk to her parents, but hided in her room to practice Falun Gong. Since September, she fell into a trance and felt living in another space herself and often dreamt that Master Li Hongzhi and many males wanted to make love with her and even cut her to death. She thought Huang was one of those in her dreams. But Huang even did not have a word with Yuan. Yuan thought that Huang invaded and hurt her in another space and he was a devil that must be gotten rid of.
This thought tortured her for a long time. In the evening of Feb. 6th, 2000, she finally broke up and lost control. She found out a kitchen knife and hacked Huang at his home. Yuan's parents burst into tears: "We bend over backwards to work laboriously and spent more than 10,000 yuan each year for her education in the provincial capital. She is the most educated one in our family. Who knows she learnt this stuff? It is Falun Gong that harmed and made our little daughter be like this."
