Li Shuxian, the wife of Zhang Yuling, a retired worker of the Bridge Factory in Fengtai District, Beijing, suffered from heart disease. In April 1998, she started to practice Falun Gong. From then on, she refused to go to see the doctor, or take medicine. Eight months later, while she was sitting in meditation, she died of a heart attack.
Zhang Yuling said, "Before her death, my wife coughed for two whole nights. I urged her to go to hospital. But she said, 'It's not necessary; I will recover in two days. The master said that he is purifying my body and helping me dispelling karma. So I am sick to offset my sins.' The doctors said she died of myocardial infarction. However the leader of the local Falun Gong center said that my wife had gone up to Heaven because of the many good deeds she did."
