Falun Gong does harm to children

Like other cults in the world, Falun Gong puts children under its duress and does harm to them.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations emphasizes that children are entitled to special care and assistance. And The Convention on the Rights of the Child affirms that “every child has the inherent right to life” and “shall ensure to the maximum extent possible the survival and development of the child.” Falun Gong openly defied these two documents. It set up training classes for children and enrolled them as Falun Gong practitioners.

Li Hongzhi said time and again: “The celestial eyes of the children under six will be opened if they read the books on Falun Gong. They will see the wheel of Fa turning.” He also said that they could “go up to the heaven and down into the earth and become immortals by cultivation.” He encouraged the Falun Gong organization to stretch out its claws to the children. When giving lectures in Hubei’s Wuhan City and Guizhou Province, Li Hongzhi demanded the heads of Falun Gong Assistant Stations “to organize the children.” Under the encouragement of Li Hongzhi, Falun Gong organizations set up children’s training classes in Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Nanchang, Zunyi, and so on. Such classes were held twice in Nanchang during the summer vacation of 1998. 160 children participated, among whom the oldest were 12 and the youngest 4.

Li Hongzhi cuts off the blood lineage between parents and children. He opposes his followers’ caring for their children or sending their sick children to hospital.

On May 3, 1999, a Dafa disciple asked: Do cultivators’ very young children need to go see the doctor?” Li Hongzhi answered: “People who are genuine cultivators. Your bodies will all be transformed into Buddha-bodies, and that’s something that cannot be achieved by doctors no matter what treatment they administer...The type of child I just talked about – who came from high levels – came to obtain the Fa. They don’t have any karma, and they won’t have any health problems.” (Teaching the Fa at the Fa Conference in Australia)

On May 24, 2008, when some followers asked him what he thought of some children followers’ illness and death, Li Hongzhi said: “Some children transmigrate into your family because it has historical causes with you and come to help you. Some help you through. Some learn with you. Some of us followers of the Dafa cherish affection too much. They value their children more than cultivation. Consequently, they push their children to the most dangerous place.”

Many children practitioners show signs or symptoms of dysphrenia and schizophrenia because of practicing Falun Gong.

Filthy ideas have been instilled into children practitioners by their obsessed parents from an early age. Such children usually have auditory and visual hallucinations, nightmares; some are so frightened that they become absentminded.

The Column of Children Followers is purposely designed on the Minghui Net. Many so-called “miracles” such as “opening celestial eyes” and other symptoms of dysphrenia, like auditory and visual hallucinations are publicized. For example, some children followers said they saw swarms of snake-like monsters and three-eyed long animals at one time and one red dragon and a yellow dragon twisted together at another. Others said they saw their space was full of devils, and even the cracks were filled with devils. Still others said they saw the image of Buddha smiling in front of them when they closed their eyes and chanted “getting rid of all devils that disturb the righteous Fa.” But the eyes of the image of Buddha suddenly gave out green light and they were frightened to open their eyes and begged their master for help immediately. Their master shone a golden light on the evil immortal and the latter exploded like a balloon.

Affected by Li Hongzhi’s fallacy, Falun Gong practitioners’ cognition and behavior have been awfully distorted. Some obsessed practitioners staged tragedies and did harm to others. Among victims of Falun Gong, many were children.

Self-immolation and suicide

Liu Siying, female, born in March 1988, was a Grade 5 student in a primary school. Following her mother Liu Chunling, she practiced Falun Gong at home in 1999. On January 23, 2001, she took part in the group self-burning at Tian’anmen Square and was badly injured by the fire. The burned area accounted for 40% of her skin; she had difficulties in breathing, and her face and head suffered a 4-level burn. She failed to respond to emergency treatments and died in hospital.

Chen Ying, 17 years old, a senior high school student in Grade 2 of Shuren High School of Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, was mentally deranged due to obsession with Falun Gong. On August 16, 1999, Chen jumped out from the train No.439 from Beijing to Jiamusi and died.

Fathers killed themselves holding their children in arms

Gao Encheng, male, 42 years old, was a cadre in the Trade and Industry Office of Tianbai Town, Kaixian County, Chongqing, and also the head of a Falun Gong practice site. He firmly believed what Li Hongzhi had claimed, that when a practitioner reached a certain level of practice, he would “gather three flowers on top of his head; produce Immortal Infant (yuanying); return to the original self; and ascend to the heaven after death.” On November 6, 1998, he jumped from the fourth floor carrying his son, and died after failing to respond to emergency treatment. His son survived after emergency treatment.

Long Gang, male, 31 years old, was a farmer from Yongchuan, Chongqing. He began to practice Falun Gong in 1997, and soon he was always in a trance. He often said the earth would be destroyed, and he would fly to the sky to avoid the disaster. On the morning of July 17, 1999, Long Gang jumped into a river carrying his son under 6 years old. His son was rescued in time and survived, but he died.

Death caused by rejecting medical treatment

Song Shuanglong, a 12-year-old boy, lived in Nanguan District, Changchun City, Jilin Province. Since he had two more pieces of cartilage in his back nasal cavity after birth, he had been treated in hospitals off and on. In 1996, his mother Ma Xiurong began to practice Falun Gong, and become convinced that Falun Gong was able to cure all diseases, so she asked her son to practice too. However, Song Shuanglong’s condition didn’t improve but became worse. His eyes became blurred at first, and then he went blind at last. On the New Year’s Day of 1999, Song’s symptoms suddenly became more serious. Ma Xiurong still guided him to perform Falun Gong actions even it was hard for Song to stand up. Song died at home on May 12.

Parents killed their own children

Tong Yan, a worker from a water supply company of Liaohe Oil Filed, at the night on December 16, 1999, she shouted continuously “up to the heaven” and killed her own daughter Xu Che on the bed, who was only 6 years old. Later Tong confessed: “A devil told me that I could cultivate into a Buddha if I killed my daughter.”

Dong Li, male, 37 years old, a villager from Dapingfang Town, Chaoyang County, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. At the night on February 3, 2002, Dong bewitched by Li Hongzhi’s fallacy, smashed mercilessly his wife and daughter in deep sleeping with a pick. His 37-year-old wife, Meng Xiurong, died, and his 14-year-old daughter, Dong Yudan, was seriously wounded.

Guan Shuyun, a woman lived in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, began to practice Falun Gong in April, 1997. On April 22, 2002, claiming to eliminate devils, Guan choked to death her own daughter Dai Nan, a girl under nine, to the face of dozens of fellow practitioners in order to reach Consummation and ascend to the paradise.

Li Yanzhong, male, 35 years old, was a worker in Tianjin Dagang Oil Field. At about 4:00 a.m. on the morning of July 10, 2005, Li killed with a kitchen knife his 6-year-old daughter Li Yue and his 6-year-old nephew Zhang Xin. Li Yanzhong confessed: “I have practiced Falun Gong for nine years, and I don't know why I always want to kill people.” “At that time the idea of killing people was full of my mind, and I was controlled by some ‘bad lives,’ it seemed like other’s idea. But it controlled your mind, and let you kill people or yourself. ”

Families are the cells of a society. Harmonious and happy families are the cornerstones of social stability.

However, agitated and attempted by the fallacies such as “to get rid of attachments,” “to go to a higher level,” and “to reach the Consummation” advocated by Li Hongzhi and his cult Falun Gong, some practitioners infatuated with Falun Gong discarded their husbands or wives and their family. Many families were broken.

Liu Changhong discarded the sister- brother affection to “go to a higher level.”

Liu Changhong was a teacher at a primary school in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. Her brother unfortunately contracted leukemia. All the family members were worried. When the doctor said, the only way to save her brother was bone marrow transplantation, Liu Changhong said firmly that she would donate bone mallow to her brother.

However, Liu Changhong began to practice Falun Gong soon. After that, she turned into another person. She lost the affection for her family and often slept out at night. Later, she did not come home for some 10 days.

Her family spent tens of thousands of RMB on her brother’s illness. Her family was not rich and her parents were mentally and physically exhausted. But Liu Changhong was obsessed with Falun Gong and never mentioned the bone mallow transplantation again. She said: “I want to go to a higher level; therefore, I should act upon what my Master says. I will discard ‘attachments’ and eradicate ‘fame, interests, and sentimentality.’”

Falun Gong destroyed Guo Jianrui’s happy family.

Guo Jianrui, a worker of Changsha Logo Band Factory in Hunan Province, ran a small bookstore with Ye Sijing, his wife, after retirement due to illness. Although the income was meagre, their family was warm and happy. However, Falun Gong took all this away from them.

In 1997, Ye Sijing started practicing Falun Gong, and she spent less and less time attending the bookstore. Sometimes, she was away for a week or fortnight. Finally, she never cared about the bookstore and no new books were purchased. She changed completely. What made Guo Jianrui more heartbroken was that, influenced by his wife, their son who was originally obedient and biddable began to practice Falun Gong too.

What Ye Sijing did all day long was cultivation or sleep. Fewer customers came to the bookstore and business became slumping. The boy’s academic record went down sharply. The unreasonable boy once put a kitchen knife on his neck and said to Guo Jianrui: “Leave me alone, remember? Otherwise, I’ll kill myself.”

Tong Yan’s family was broken by Falun Gong.

At the night of December 16, 1999, Tong Yan, female, a native of Liaoning Province, killed her 6-year-old daughter Xu Che on bed with a kitchen knife. Tong Yan started to practice Falun Gong from October 1999. After killing her daughter, she ran down stairs bare-footed and shouted: “Up to the heaven. Up to the heaven…”

Xu Aijun, her husband, said: “My wife used to work hard and be considerate of our parents before she practiced Falun Gong. She was also an understanding wife and a loving mother.”

What “magic power” induced an understanding wife and a loving mother to kill her own daughter? Tong Yan recalled: “A devil told me that I could cultivate into a Buddha if I killed my daughter.”

Feng Lifeng drowned herself in a river.

Feng Lifeng, a farmer in Jixian County, Tianjin, was bewitched by Li Hongzhi’s fallacies. She drowned herself in a river in March 1999, which brought a great hurt to her 12-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter. Their school records declined sharply. Her husband had to make money for the family and look after the two children. This was beyond his tolerance. Feng Lifeng’s old mother could not help her tears when she thought of her daughter’s death and the family tragedy caused by Falun Gong.

Zhang Jian jumped off a building and died. Parents buried their son.

Zhang Jian, an engineer in the Communication Station of Fujian Oil Refinery and Chemical Plant, poisoned by Li Hongzhi and Falun Gong, jumped off a building and killed himself in February 1999. His parents lost their only son and no one cared about their life. Tears bathed their cheeks all day long.

Wang Xidong jumped from a truck and died, leaving his parents behind.

Wang Xidong, a native of Dandong City, Liaoning Province, jumped from a truck and died on August 21, 1999 after he practiced Falun Gong. He was the only child to his parents. His wedding was due in a month and the bridal chamber had already been decorated. Everything was ready: The invitations being delivered. But Wang headed for his doom following Li Hongzhi’s fallacy. It was such a heavy mental blow to his family that they could hardly bear the pain.

Falun Gong put on three tragedies at Tian Jianguo’s home.

Tian Jianguo, a worker in Nanyang Cereal Co., Ltd., and his wife Wang Peng, started practicing Falun Gong in 1997 and soon became obsessed with it. They not only spent all their time in practicing, but also asked Tian Pei, their 15-year-old son, to practice Falun Gong from dawn to dusk. In order to cultivate Gong whole-heartedly as his parents, Tian Pei became weary of studying. He started to go to school late and leave earlier. He played truant now and then afterwards. And at last, he stopped schooling and practiced Falun Gong whole-heartedly at home. The Tians were poisoned by the idea of “going to a higher level” and “reaching Consummation.” They thought that practicing Falun Gong was more important for their son than learning knowledge in class. Their son would be more promising by following the master than studying at school.

Tian Jianguo and his wife, regarding each other as a fellow practitioner, thought the other party was the obstacle on the way to a higher level because the “level” of the other party was too low. Finally, they divorced.

Tian Jianguo’s father suffered a severe gastric ulcer. He was extremely worried about his son, his daughter-in-law, and his grandson because they were all bewitched by Falun Gong. His son divorced; his grandson left school; and finally, his daughter-in-law together with his grandson left home. It was too much for an old man like him. His illness got worse and he died soon.

Falun Gong verged Li Xiuqin’s family on collapse.

Li Xiuqin, a native of Lianzhuang Town, Ninghe County, Tianjin City, started to practice Falun Gong in March 1997 and became obsessed with it gradually. She practiced around the clock and cared about nothing else at home. Liu Hetian, Li’s husband, was unable to concentrate on his work as a result. Their carton factory, which used to be prosperous, was also on the verge of bankruptcy. Their children’s academic records went down. To make things worse, bewitched by Li Hongzhi’s fallacy of “removing karma,” Li Xiuqin rejected medical treatment after ill. She even did not allow her own son, Liu Wenyong, to go and consult a doctor when he was ill. Liu Wenyong suffered from a skin disease at the beginning of 1999. Liu Hetian intended to send their little son to hospital but was stopped by Li Xiuqin. She treated her son with her “Gong” according to Falun Gong teachings. Thus the illness of the boy was left unattended.

Soon Liu Wenyong’s illness deteriorated: Large black and blue speckles appeared on his skin. Some even festered. The local hospital initially diagnosed the illness as skin cancer. Liu Wenyong had to suspend his school and stay at home. The boy’s grandparents were overwhelmed with sorrow and thought of killing themselves. The whole family was verged on collapse.

Family tragedies caused by Falun Gong strike the world time and again. Countless innocent people are led astray by Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong organization. Under the temptations such as Consummation, ascending to heaven and becoming Buddha, many obsessed Falun Gong practitioners are lured into destroying their own families.
