Qi Baiping, male, born in 1963 in Hubei Province, is an associate professor of School of Arts, Renmin University of China, as well as Chinese director of Confucius Institute at the University of Michigan, US.

On August 20 to 22, 2010, for the sake of spreading Chinese culture and exchanging the art and learning, professor Qi attended the 4th Global Chinese Music Competition held by American New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) which is a medium associated with Falun Gong, but professor Qi knew nothing about this.
After that, Falun Gong’s websites such as Epoch Times and NTDTV published lots of false reports for its anti-China and anti-Communist propaganda, saying that CCP member Qi Baiping praised NTDTV music competition highly, and that CCP culture was conspued by its own official.
Professor Qi was so angry that he claimed on Kaiwind.com, and stressed that: “The associated organizers should stop malicious speculation immediately, as well as anti-Communist propaganda on behalf of me. Otherwise, I will retain the right to take legal action.”
Declaration
I have attended the 4th Global Chinese Music Competition held by American New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) on August 20 to 22, 2010. Recently, the reports about my presence are totally inaccurate. In order to clarify the facts clearly, I hereby solemnly declare as follows:
1. I participated in this Competition for the sake of spreading Chinese culture and arts. I knew nothing about the true background of the Competition previously. The reports made up by some organizations are purely fabricated and distorted, which not only have hurt me seriously, but also have caused negative social effects. I express strong indignation to this.
2. As a member of Chinese Communist Party, I love the People's Republic of China all along, and firmly support the CCP. I am strongly opposed to any force’s malicious attack on the state and government in any form, damaging the party and the people's interests.
3. China has now become the world's second largest economic power. I sincerely wish our country can be more prosperous and developed, making greater contributions to human development. And, I sincerely hope that all the Chinese home and abroad fight for our motherland, but not going against her and destroying her.
4. The associated organizers should stop malicious speculation immediately, as well as anti-Communist propaganda on behalf of me. Otherwise, I will retain the right to take legal action.
