Recently an international Buddhism organization decided that Li Hongzhi is a cultish personage. When participating a symposium held in China's Taiwan Province, more than 200 prominent figures in the world Buddhism circle including living Buddhas, lay Buddhists and eminent monks from 28 countries voted by ballot that Li and other three are cultish personages.
The symposium, which is sponsored by the United International Budhism Headquarter, also reached a conclusion that Li has used garbled Buddhist teachings to cheat people. The wise decision once again gives a strong support to China's ban on Falun Gong cult.
When some Western countries make a fuss over the Falun Gong issue out of political reasons, the United International Buddhism Headquarter has made a wise move by singling out Li as a cultish personage. The decision will be instrumental for people in the world to distinguish Falun Gong as a cult. To Li, the cultish leader, it serves as a heavy blow, however.
Ever since his cult was banned by the Chinese Government in July 22 last year, Li and his die-hard followers have chosen to stand on the opposite of the government. They either organized illegal set-ins inside Chinese mainland or in front of Chinese government organizations abroad or spread hearsay to confuse right with wrong in the international arena.
Taking advantage of the fact that some in the West world has been using the human rigtht issue as an excuse to attack China, Li and his overseas followers spread rumours in the international arena that China's ban on Falun Gong infringes upon people's religious freedom. When the United Nationa Human Rights Committee convened its annual meeting in Geneva last March, Li and his followers, counting on the anti-China resolution tabled by the United States would make the dying ember of Falun Gong to glow again, staged anti-China farces in the UN headquarter. Then the US resolution was dismissed by the Committee in disgrace, making Li and his followers greatly disappointed.
With more and more people realize the cultish nature of Falun Gong, Li and his Falun Gong is becoming increasingly unpopular in the international arena. It is reported that Li even hired jobless people to demonstrate for Falun Gong in front of some ovearseas Chinese organizations. It should be noted that the support of some China-haters in the West world has encouraged Li and his followers to continue their evil deeds.
In fact, China's ban on Falun Gong cult has protected its people from the evil hands of Falun Gong. China's move has encouraged many countries to take bolder strides in their fight with different heretic organizations.
The world has never been immune from the struggle of the evil and the virtuous. Since the 1990s, many heretic organizations have staged a series of mass suicides and attacks on society which have greatly surprised people and threatened stability of the human society. Falun Gong is just like the Japanese cult Aum Shinrikyo and the cult that has resulted in the death of more than 1,400 people in Uganda. It has led to the death of more than 1,500 people.
Now that the United International Buddhism Headquarter has decided that Li Hongzhi is a cultish personage, it is believed that the world will have a clearer understanding on the cultish nature of Li and his Falun Gong. In stead of ``a peaceful meditation group'' or ``a qigong group'' which is introduced by some irresponsible or ill-intentioned media organizations, Falun Gong bears every feature of a cult.
It should be noted that Falun Gong not only imperils stability in China but in world as well. A more balanced international view on Falun Gong is needed for people to have a correct understanding of the cult so as to ensure that the world will be free from the evil of Falun Gong cult in the near future.
