Falun Gong Took My Mother’s Life When I was 13（Photo）

 I am Ye Can, 26 years old, living in Huangjing Village , Chengxi Town , Dazhu County , Sichuan Province. My mother Zhou Zebi was born on June 13, 1966. She died at the age of 35 because she refused medical treatment out of her belief that practicing Falun Gong could eliminate her karma and thus cure her disease. When my mother died, I was just 13 years old.    

My mother began practicing Falun Gong in 1997, while I was a primary school student aged nine. She was so obsessed with Falun Gong that she went to Chengxi Town everyday to join group practice without exception. Sometimes she was so devoted that she even forgot to prepare lunch for me. When I returned home from school, I found nothing to eat and I had to go back to school without eating anything.    

My father Ye Caijin was a good-natured man and did not have final say at home. He knew little about my mother practicing Falun Gong. Therefore, he neither supported nor opposed my mother.    

After Falun Gong was outlawed as an anti-science and anti-society movement, many villagers gave it up. But my mother kept on practicing. She ignored the advice of our relatives. Moreover, she regarded these relatives as bad ones and did not let them persuade her out of Falun Gong.    

As a result of long sessions of practicing and going out to publicize Falun Gong, as well as an irregular life, my mother was in poor health. She was pale, and suffered from shortness of breath. My father, with the help of friends and relatives, forced my mother to the People’s Hospital in Dazhou County . We were all shocked by the diagnosis that my mother had coronary heart disease. Doctors told us that my mother should receive hospitalized treatment immediately, since her condition was very dangerous.    

But my mother refused medical treatment. She said, “I am a Dafa disciple, and hospital is not my place. Hospital is for common people. My heart problems resulted from my karma. So I should practice hard to eliminate the karma. My suffering means my master is helping eliminate my karma and clean my body.”My mother sounded hysteric, and her remarks embarrassed our friends and relatives. Since my mother rejected medical treatment, we had to take her home.   

After my mother came home, one of her fellow practitioners came to visit her. She said to my mother, “Medicine is manmade rubbish and cannot cure diseases. As a disciple of Dafa, you should practice hard to cure the disease. Our master would protect you with his Law Body, and he would help us ascend to higher levels.” Her remarks made my mother more obsessed. As her condition was worsening, she kept on practicing.  

On June 11, 2009, my mother’s condition worsened. She fell onto the floor at home, and lost consciousness. Shortly afterwards she died. The death of my mother left lasting pain on our family.
