Chen Baozhi, male, born in October 1949, is a native of the Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province.He began to practice Falun Gong in 1996 and once served as the head of the Nanchang Falun Gong Training Center. In 2003, he was sentenced to 11 years' imprisonment for engaging in illegal activities in connection with Falun Gong. In 2011, he was released from prison ahead of schedule. Zhang Li, female, born in March 1960, is also a native of the Xihu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. She began to practice Falun Gong in January 1995. The above two persons were arrested by public security authorities in July 2019 for engaging in illegal Falun Gong activities. With the help and education of anti-cult volunteers, Chen Baozhi has been completely awakened to the harms of the Falun Gong, while Zhang Li is still addicted to the evil cult. So Chen Baozhi wrote a letter to Zhang Li, expressing his heartfelt thoughts as follows:

Hello, Zhang Li!
It's quite awkward for us to “meet” in this way today. We used to be fellow practitioners, but now I have quitted Falun Gong while you are still addicted to it. So, I want to talk with you today. I think the path we took in the past is wrong. Let me tell you something about why I want to break away with Falun Gong.
You're only a few years older than I was when I served my sentence in prison. At that time, I was also a hardened follower of Falun Gong, so addicted to it that I couldn’t be pulled back to the right path. With the help and education of the government staff during my prison years, I understood a little about the nature of Falun Gong, with some doubts occurring in my mind, which sort of swayed my belief in it. However, as I hadn’t fully recognized the true nature of Falun Gong and had failed to firmly resist it in my thoughts, I fell back into the evil cult after I was released from prison. What’s more, I got deeper and deeper into it and even did illegal things.
Despite that, the society didn’t give up on me and kept trying to save me.
The anti-cult volunteers had heart-to-heart talks with me, offering me help and education, while my wife and children made great efforts to influence me through family affection. My sons-in-law were burning with anxiety about me, while my senior mother, two daughters, and granddaughter were filled with tears all day long. When I saw the video of them crying, my heart of stone immediately melted, and I shed tears for the first time for a long time. It was because of all these that I deeply appreciated the community's great tolerance of and care for me, felt the harmony and stability of the society as a big family, as well as the warmth of family affections. After all, there is no reason whatsoever for us to do illegal things that hurt our loved ones and disturb social stability, unity, harmony, and stability of our country.
It is time for us to wake up and break with the evil cult. Li Hongzhi is also a human being, not a god. Let’s not get obsessed with Falun Gong and live under the spiritual control of Li Hongzhi any longer. We should break through its spiritual shackles and think independently as a normal person. Naturally, everyone will experience birth, old age, sickness, and death. Many of the Falun Gong practitioners around us have died of terminal illnesses.
Let's expose the harmful aspects of Falun Gong.
(1) We were too selfish. We had abandoned everything for achieving the so-called "consummation" and returning to the "heavenly world". We didn't care about our family, our work, and our family members, whether old or the young; we gave little love or affection to our family; we hadn’t enjoyed our family life as normal people had; nor had we tried to feel the great changes taking place in our harmonious society.
(2) We are both the victims and the victimizers. Now that our society is so harmonious, and our country is developing so fast, we should contribute our effort to our society to make people live and work happily instead of disturbing their peaceful life. Therefore, we cannot do any illegal things against the Party, society, or the government.
(3) If we continue to be obsessed with Falun Gong without realizing the serious harm of the evil cult, we will go down a road of no return. Zhang Li, please ask yourself: Is the Falun Gong evil cult worthy of you? What have you got from it? You haven’t got anything from it! On the contrary, you have lost your happy family and your desired job for it. Like me, you have wasted more than 20 years of your precious time, with all your energy spent on the cult. You have confined your mind to the narrow space, unable to feel the changes in the real world and the affections of your family.
I've broken completely with Falun Gong from the bottom of my heart. I’ve pulled back before it’s too late, so I hope you'll also wake up and turn back to the right path, thinking independently as a normal person and making a complete break with Falun Gong. Let’s work together to help our former fellow practitioners who haven’t come to their senses and pull them one by one back into the ranks of normal human beings from the evil cult, making up for the losses we have caused. This is our responsibility because we have done things that shouldn’t have been done.
Finally, I would like to tell you that Falun Gong practitioners are not like murderers or arsonists. As long as we have corrected our mistakes, seriously reflect on what we did wrong in the past, and try our best to make up for the consequences we have brought about, the government will give us opportunities or let us off, so that we can return to society and enjoy our family life.
Zhang Li, please think twice about what I have said above and seize the opportunity.
