Wild obsession ends Peng’s happy life

The so-called “clarifying the truth” of the Falun Gong cult is actually cooking up rumors and spreading them around to deceive the public. It has been trying every means to conceal its nature of victimizing people and harming society. As a result, numerous believers unaware of its true colors were by it and even brought ruin upon themselves. Peng Xiaomeng is one of its countless victims.

In the No.859 Farm of Jiansanjiang Administration of Heilongjiang General Bureau of Agricultural Reclamation, Peng Xiaomeng could be considered a capable person. He joined the farm in 1971. At that time, he was not yet 20 years old. Due to his hard work and ability, his life was getting better and better. Later, he opened a condiment shop and a nursing home.

But along with his happy life came an “evil wind”, which almost blew away everything good he had. The evil wind came from none other than the Falun Gong cult and its Master Li Hongzhi. No wonder Peng Bo, Peng Xiaomeng's second son, said: "Falun Gong is truly harmful to people!”

Peng Xiaomeng has three sons, two of them mentally handicapped, except his second son Peng Bo. His wife was as hard-working and capable as he was when she was young. As she got old, she suffered from some health problems. A neighbor called Zhang Guanglong said Peng Xiaopent's obsession with Falun Gong was initially due to the illusion that it would benefit his family. When Peng Xiaomeng first heard that practicing Falun Gong could cure any disease, he began to practice it with others, purely for the fun of it. But after it was banned by the government, he no longer practiced it.

One day in 2004, a Falun Gong practitioner from Peng's work unit, came to his shop and gave him a Falun Gong pamphlet. He also told Peng about the various benefits of practicing Gong, encouraging him to resume his practice. After receiving some "guidance" from this "Dafa disciple," Peng Xiaomeng began to practice Falun Gong again. However, Peng didn't truly believe in Master Li Hongzhi and his “Fa" at this time, remaining rather suspicious of Falun Gong. So, He was only trying to imitate the so-called “Gongfa” or cultivation techniques of Falun Gong with the idea of having a try.

During this period, Peng Xiaomeng didn’t see clearly the true nature of Falun Gong as an evil cult harming people, but he didn’t fall so deep into the mire of the evil cult that he couldn’t extricate himself from it. If he woke up to his error then, he would avoid the harm he suffered later. However, the Falun Gong cult was following people like their shadows. Its heretical fallacies had found their way into almost every place. Therefore, people like Peng Xiaomeng could easily become innocent victims of the evil cult.

Again, One day in 2011, two people claiming to be "Dafa disciples" came to exchange their experience of practicing Gong with Peng Xiaomeng as fellow practitioners at his home. Before leaving, they left several Falun Gong books with Peng.

From then on, Peng began to get obsessed with Falun Gong, and gradually, his knowledge of its heretical fallacies "rose to a higher level." Through constantly “studying the “Fa", Peng slowly entered a state of illusion. It seemed that he indeed saw a "world filled with gold" and the "beautiful Dafa scene" of "ascending in broad daylight." As he believed that Master was taking the Falun Gong practitioners to a higher level, Peng increasingly felt he was superior to average people as a Falun Gong practitioner. Thus, he became less and less attached to his family and got more and more indifferent to his relatives and friends.

The Falun Gong cult concealed the truth that many of its obsessed believers had been disabled or killed for practicing gong, and vigorously advertised its so-called "functions". As a result, Peng Xiaomeng fell deeper and deeper into the quagmire of the evil cult banned by the government according to law. At this time, Li Hongzhi had already fled to the United States but he continued to issuing evil "scriptures" encouraging his disciples to go out to "clarify the truth.” In fact, he did so only to incite his disciples to disrupt the normal social order out of hatred for the government outlawing Falun Gong. Using the so-called "consummation" as bait, Li Hongzhi instigated his followers to leave their homes and businesses to "clarify the truth" outside. Some of his followers even lost their lives for doing so. For example, the horrific "Tiananmen Square Self-Immolation Incident," which occurred on January 23, 2001, resulted in a tragedy in which two people died and three were seriously injured.

To "reach consummation and become a Buddha" and ascend to the "heavenly world", Peng Xiaomeng abandoned his family, often distributing leaflets and posting slogans inside the buildings of his community and work unit. Besides, he constantly persuaded others to go out to "spread the Fa" with him, and he stayed outside for months every time he went away from home. He no longer had any desire to manage his nursing home and ingredients shop. Instead, he spent all his time "exchanging ideas" with his fellow practitioners, reading Zhuang Falun, listening to recordings, watching videos, or attending other Falun Gong activities. He was full of expectation for Master's unreliable promises, convinced that Master will bring benefits to his family through “saving people” and "eliminating karma to dispel diseases.”

According to Jia Naisheng, secretary of the Community Party Working Committee of the local community, Peng Xiaomeng had "cultivated" to the point that he wanted to sell his house and give all the money from the sale to the Falun Gong cult. When his wife intervened, he had a fierce quarrel with her, and he even threatened her with divorce, which finally caused his wife to be attacked by cerebral thrombosis due to her great anxiety. After his wife fell ill, Peng Xiaomeng, who firmly believed in the “karma elimination” fallacy spread by Li Hongzhi, insisted that his wife should practice Falun Gong with him instead of being sent to the hospital for treatment. He said that she would be cured by practicing Falun Gong. However, his family members sent his wife to the hospital despite his obstruction.

However, due to the great mental torments caused by Peng Xiaomeng practicing Falun Gong, Peng’s wife fell ill again shortly after being discharged from the hospital. This time, Peng still prevented his wife from going to the hospital, saying that she could be cured as long as she practiced Falun Gong.

Peng's "true cultivation" distanced him from his relatives and friends. His family members tried to persuade him to quit the Falun Gong cult many times. Nevertheless, their persuasion only resulted in them getting more disappointed with him every time. Peng either quarreled with his wife or abused his son whenever they urged him to give up Falun Gong. In the end, this originally harmonious family came to the brink of collapse. Peng Xiaomeng was obsessed with "reaching consummation and becoming a Buddha," "going to the heavenly world," and "spreading the Fa to save others." Apart from leaving home without returning from time to time, he donated 30,000 yuan to the Falun Gong cult organization.

Peng Xiaomeng's obsession with Falun Gong had attracted the attention of his community leaders and anti-evil-cult volunteers. They visited him at his home several times, bring out the facts and reasons to him, in the hope that he would break from the mental bondage of the Falun Gong cult and return to normal social life as soon as possible. Later, in cooperation with his family, they sent him to a counseling class for psychological correction. Peng Xiaomeng felt unprecedented warmth in the class, which slowly melted his frozen heart.

Now, Peng's greatest wish is to tell more people about his experience as a victim of the Falun Gong cult, so that those who are still obsessed with it can return to normal life as soon as possible. Peng said, "Living in the world, we should not only sum up our own experience and lessons but also those of others. Only in this way can we take fewer detours and do fewer regrettable things in our life."
