A group of 60 Chinese mainlanders whose names or birthdays are related to China's National Day celebration, or "guoqing" in Chinese, have begun a journey to Hong Kong.
The trip is co-sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and mainland-based China Youth Daily.
The delegation includes company employees, civil servants, teachers, farmers and students from 19 cities. Among them, 44 people have "guoqing" as their given name and 49 have October 1, China's National Day, as their birthday.
Over the next five days, the delegation will savor authentic local delicacies, visit landmark buildings and tourist sites such as the Hong Kong stock exchange, the Legislative Council Building and Victoria Harbor, and attend the premiere of a movie about the founding of the People's Republic of China.
