Cherishing family affection and caring for the beloved ones are traditional virtues of mankind. Although Li Hongzhi boasts "Truthfulness, Compassion and Tolerance" or "being good people," Falun Gong disciples ignore family affection and even hurt their own relatives and family members.
Falun Gong advocates "God created man," "master soul formed a person" or even "Li Hongzhi created human beings all by himself," claiming that your real mother is the one who gave birth to your master soul instead of the one who gave birth to your body in this world; that your real parents are in the place where the universe created you; that people do not have real beloved ones in this world.
Li Hongzhi said: "The body structure of humans was created by Gods." (Touring North America to Teach the Fa)
"Only the mother who gave birth to your master soul is your real mother." (Zhuan Falun)
During his earlier lecture recorded with videotape, Li Hongzhi even said: "I'm the oldest being in the universe and I created all my fathers and mothers in different lives."
"Your real parents are in the place where the universe created you. That is where your parents are...Therefore, your real parents are right now watching you over there, hoping that you will return; but instead of returning, you get lost here and still feel that your relatives are all here." "In this life you are my family member, but in the next life who knows who we will be related to. Just in this lifetime is our relationship predestined. It's just like staying at an inn: you lodge there briefly for a night and then part ways the next day. Who could possibly take someone else's place?" (Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. International Fa Conference)
"But as a cultivator you can't confuse yourself with an everyday person. To put it a bit seriously, you're no longer human." (Teaching the Fa in New York City)
"Cultivators are on a journey to divinity." (Teaching the Fa in San Francisco, 2005)
Falun Gong regards Dafa disciples as "supermen," and family affection an obstacle to cultivation, claiming, to reach Consummation, the practitioners have to give up family affection and desires. Falun Gong opposes people's showing filial respect to their parents or caring for their children and spurns the love of married couples.
Li Hongzhi said: "Those who are attached to affection for family will definitely be burned, entangled, and tormented by it. Pulled by the threads of affection and plagued by them throughout their lives, they will find it too late to regret at the end of their lives." (Cultivators' Avoidances)
"Cultivation is something you do right in the thick of tribulations. They'll test whether you can sever your emotions and desires, and they'll see if you can take them lightly. If you're attached to those things you won't be able to finish your cultivation. Everything has its cause. Why can human beings be human? It's exactly because humans have emotion. People just live for emotion. The affection among family members, the love between a man and woman, love for parents, feelings, friendships, doing things for friendship's sake – no matter where you go you can't get out of emotion...If this sentimentality is not relinquished, you will be unable to practice cultivation." "Whether you can let go of ordinary human attachments is a fatal test on your way to becoming a truly extraordinary being." (True Cultivation)
"Right in the midst of ordinary people you have to get rid of every bit of all those bad thoughts you have, and that's the only way you can improve and go up." (Zhuan Falun)
"Cultivate away fame, material interest, and emotion, Reach Consummation, ascending the firmament." (Reaching Consummation, Completing Gong)
Li Hongzhi instigates and bewitches his followers: In order to reach Consummation, it is right for you to eliminate "demons" that interfere with your cultivation, even if the "demons" are your own beloved ones.
"The wretched demons just deserve to be killed." (Explaining the Content of Falun Dafa)
"If the evil has already reached the point where it is unsavable and unkeepable, then various measures at different levels can be used to stop it and eradicate it...Completely eliminating the evil is for Fa-rectification, and not a matter of personal cultivation." (Beyond the Limits of Forbearance)
Bewitched by Li Hongzhi, many Falun Gong practitioners caused family tragedies time and again.
On November 26, 1999, Zhu Changjiu, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Qingta, Renqiu County of Hebei Province, cruelly killed his parents at home simply because they burnt his Falun Gong books.
On November 25, 2001, Fu Yibin, a Falun Gong practitioner living in Xicheng District of Beijing, cruelly killed his father and wife who loved him deeply and seriously injured his mother with a kitchen knife regardless that his mother brought him up.
On April 22, 2002, Guan Shuyun, a practitioner living in Meixi District, Yichun County of Heilongjiang Province whose mind was controlled by Falun Gong fallacies, conducted so-called "expelling evil" rituals, and killed her nine-year-old daughter Dai Nan in the presence of several dozens of Falun Gong practitioners.
