Living in plural family was not a bed of roses for Escaping Polygamy star Lorie Peterson Kingston.

Lorie revealed that sharing her husband with multiple wives - including her own sister - was heartbreaking for her in a preview of Sunday's episode of the A&E reality series.

As Lorie described, she was lured into the family by elder sibling Lawina, Verl's first wife, who told her it would ensure 'my eternal salvation.'

But having to watch Verl leave her and go to sleep with her own blood relative was 'devastating' and like 'a bad dream,' she said.

They all belong to polygamist Salt Lake City–based Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Lorie described how her sister Lawina took a more maternal role after their mother walked out on them.

'And she really felt strongly that I needed to be a part of her family,' Lori said. 'She would tell me that she felt like if I didn't do this, then I would lose my eternal salvation.'

Lorie was 17 years old when she married her sister's husband, Verl Kingston.

Verl later married his half-sister who became his third wife.

'My sister has 15 children with my husband. I had 10 children with my husband. And the third wife has six children,' Lorie said.

'I see my husband every third night. The other two nights I'm not with my husband it's really hard, sometimes devastating and you're lonely.

'It's difficult because you have to watch him walk out that door and go somewhere else and that's hard to take.

'Thinking about my husband with another woman, I have to blank that out because it's too hard. And having it be that it was my sister was even harder.

'You just sometimes think, you wish you could wake up from that bad dream because you wish he could just be yours.'

Lorie went on to explain that being part of a polygamous family is especially hard on the children.

Only the first wife can put the father's name on the birth certificates. The children of the subsequent wives weren't 'allowed' to call Verl 'daddy.'

'They weren't allowed to acknowledge their father as daddy or whatever. They always called him by his name,' Lorie said.

Escaping Polygamy, now in its second season, airs on A&E this Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
