The first China-assembled Airbus A320 features traditional Chinese style, with all the air hostesses wearing Qipao, or Chinese Cheongsam, to serve passengers Wednesday, Enorth.com reported.
The traditional Chinese costumes were specially designed for the seven air hostesses aboard the plane, which was named the "China Dragon".
Liu Yu, the chief flight attendant, said the brightly colored Qipao were embroidered with flying phoenix to coincide with the red dragon on the A320's fuselage. In Chinese, 'Dragon and Phoenix' means 'Twin Bliss'.
The A320 was delivered to Beijing-based Dragon Aviation Leasing Tuesday and operated by Sichuan Airlines in southwestern China. The plane made its initial flight from Chengdu to Beijing Wednesday.
