Zhao Jing has broken her own world record in the women's 50-meter backstroke at the World Cup short-course swimming series in Stockholm.
Sports.qq.com reported that Zhao set a new record of 25.82 seconds in Tuesday's final and bettered her mark of 26.08 set earlier that day in qualifying.
Marieke Guehrer of Australia, who set the previous record in Moscow last week, took the silver in 25.98 seconds. China's Gao Chang took the third in 26.10 seconds.
Zhao smashed the world record at the long-course swimming competition in 27.06 seconds at the Rome World Championsahips in July. She is the first Chinese to set a world record at short-course swimming competition and the only Chinese swimmer to hold world records at both long- and short-course swimming competitions.
