Tibet has been attracting more and more visitors with its ethnic festivals and natural scenery beauty since winter began in November.
Although Tibet has been now in the slack tourist season since November, the scenic spot of the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon is still "hot" as it has received 50 tourists each day, according to Bo Yazhou, a staff at the scenic spot.
Lying at an altitude of 3,100 m, Nyingchi Prefecture, southeastern Tibet, is known as the "Jiangnan (warm and fertile areas south of the Yangtze River) in Tibet" with its humid weather, luxuriant vegetation and beautiful natural scenery.
Neither too hot in summer nor too cold in winter, Nyingchi boasts a number of world-famous scenic spots including the Yarlung Zangbo Grand Canyon, the Namjagbarwa Peak, Bomi Glaciers, Lake Basum and Lulang Forests.
The natural landscape and folk festivals being held in winter make the prefecture a hot spot in winter tours to Tibet.

Suoqiang, a member of a tour group from Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, said that they arrived in Lhasa on November 18 and planned to visit Nyingchi and Xigaze in addition to Lhasa during their one-week stay in Tibet.
Apart from its natural scenery, Nyingchi has distinctive folk customs that have also enchanted the visitors.
Tashi Nyima, a resident of Zhongguo Village, said that the Tibetans in Nyingchi Prefecture began on November 17 to celebrate the Gongbu New Year, which begins from October 1 in the Tibetan calendar.
On November 18, his village hosted a group of tourists from south China's Guangdong Province, who appreciated the folklore of Gongbu New Year together with the locals.
In addition, Lhasa will hold the third Tibetan New Year Folklore Tourist Festival in February 2010, and Xigaze Prefecture will mark the new year one month earlier.
Tourists to Tibet will thus be able to appreciate the Tibetan New Year customs in different areas.
