Teams at the venues prepared early for the heavy snow. At 8 am on Saturday, all staff members were on duty and began applying snow-melting agents to roads at around 5 pm to ensure safe passage of vehicles.
The weekend snowfall served as practice for when snow comes during the Games. The personnel and equipment were assessed to detect problems so that services can be guaranteed for the events.
