Falun Gong is a cult organization, because it possesses six characteristics other cults in the world share with, there are: hierarch worship, mind control, faking heresy, amassing money, forming secret society and endangering the society. If compared with other cults of west nations, there are six points that Falun Gong differes from others.
Firstly, the cult founders mostly in the common imperilled their lives with their followers, for instance, the Branch Davidian, the People's Temple and the Solar Temple. But Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Gong, observing that Chinese government would take real action on the Falun Gong organization in 1999, fled the country to America asking for political asylum. He lived a carefree life of comfort in the United State but instigated his followers to make a martyr of themselves, or to be self-burning or self-deforming by the so-called "scripture". All evidences show that Falun Gong wouldn't cease any activities or totally vanish by way of taking extreme behavior immediately.
Secondly, other cults have been severely cracked down in United States, but Falun Gong has been decriminalization. The cult "Osho Meditation" has been founded by an Indian originally named Osho. Osho went to USA to missionize his cult. The U.S. government penalized him by fining 400,000 dollars and asked him to leave the US in five days. He couldn't be allowed to enter US forever. However, as to Falun Gong, the U.S. government not only backd up financially, but also sent the people who had before splitted former Yugoslavia as the adviser to Falun Gong. The U.S. government came openly expressed its concern on Falun Gong, and requested the Chinese government to permit Falun Gong followers expressing their ideas and gathering freely. Being more ridiculous, 46 U.S. Congressmen nominated Li Hongzhi for Nobel Peace Prize candidate in 2001 after Falun Gong followers set themselves on fire in the Tian'anmen Square.
Thirdly, the disciples of other cults mostly live an exclusive, fantastic and eccentric life, because they pursue mysticism, anti-society and anti-traditional ethics and morals. But most of the organizers, planners and skeleton members of the Falun Gong cult have obvious political purpose. Some of them never practice Falun Gong, even not know what is "Zhuan Falun". Since they have common political purpose and personal economic interests, they have tried to profit from rioting, and carried out various criminal offenses wantonly.
Fourthly, other cults mostly do not have series of heretical ideas as theory basis, especially do not have the systematic remarks specifically for the governing Party or the government. The Falun Gong, however, has a whole set of fabricated heretical ideas for mind control, including "Chinese Falun Gong", "Zhuan Falun", "Falun Fofa", and the "lections" delivered almost everyday. What`s more, they have fabricated a series of political articles, e.g. "Nine Comments on the Communist Party" and "Dismembering the Party Culture ", to distort the history of the Communist Party of China and deny its historical role.
Fifthly, other cults mostly do not plot sabotage directly to the governing Party in a country, but the target of Falun Gong is the Communist Party of China. They hand out, post and write anti-Communist Party slogans everywhere. They also spread rumor like the Party member "quitting the Party".
The last, Falun Gong does not, as other cults, missionize in "traditional methods". Taking advantages of modern science and technology to engage in illegal and criminal activities, especially using the internet to command, is the outstanding characteristic of Falun Gong. Internet has been taken as its main position and important approach to propagate. All the propagating materials were loaded down and copied from the internet. It is common for Falun Gong to propagate by means of modern communication technology, such as IP telephone, internet image-sticky, mobilephone message and so on. The cases of anti-Communist Party and government propaganda by cable television, wireless TV broadcasting and the satellite were frequently occurring.
When it was prohibited by the Chinese government, Falun Gong didn't admit it was a cult and then it claimed "non political". Now it helds unwilling appearance to say "having to be political". In conclusion, Falun Gong is not only a mind-control but a politically - deceiving cult. It is not "non political" or "having to be political", on the contrary, it always seizes any opportunity to carry on the activities of anti-human beings, anti-society and anti-government.
