Homecoming Festival is an occasion when the graduated students get back to their alma mater to meet their former classmates. It is a festival for the former classmates to maintain contact. However, such a pure festival was used by Falun Gong disciples to spread their fallacies.
Let's first review some of the homecomings that Falun Gong has participated in.
In November 2003, participated in the homecoming parade of University of South Dakota.
On October 21, 2005, participated in University of Wisconsin-Madison campus homecoming parade.
On September 29, 2007, participated in the homecoming parade of University of Montana.
On October 20, 2007, participated in the homecoming parade of University of Missouri, Columbia.
Now let's observe what did they do in the parades:
In the homecoming parade of University of South Dakota, they boasted, "According to the weather forecast, it will be snowy in days around the parade, but it didn't snow since Falun Gong practitioners have sent forth righteous thoughts. Any living things but evil will leave way for Falun Gong." Only Falun Gong is so barefaced and careless in boasting.
Falun Gong even puffed that it was well accepted in the parades and that the audience were curious about Falun Dafa, praising with words such as "It's so beautiful!" "Absolutely beautiful!" None of these parlances were testified, and thus they were of no persuasion.
Why did Falun Gong favor Homecoming? The following points may account for it:
1. Coating fallacies in the culture of Homecoming. Falun Gong's attempted to enhance its cultural taste through participating in the parades of these universities, so that their inconvincible and patched up lection might be taken by those who didn't know the real story of Falun Gong as orthodox traditional Chinese culture.
2. Intermingled in the parades in that the sponsors of such events hoped to expand their influence and didn't recognize Falun Gong's real face. Falun Gong had been too active in participating various functions to have it lost its overseas living space. Therefore it intermingled in the parades in that the sponsors of such events hoped to expand their influence.
Why did Falun Gong only participate in parade in one university for one time?
It can be learnt in reviewing reports on Falun Gong's participating homecoming parades that in most cases, Falun Gong participated in such event in one school just once, that`s to say "once for all". Even if covered by the Chinese culture, their real intention of spreading cult fallacies was laid bare thoroughly in just one participation, they would have no more chances.
