My name is Sun Suqin, 70 years old, living in Shangguan Town, Huaxian County of central eastern China's Henan Province. I have three kids, two sons and a daughter. My daughter is called Tang Shujuan, born in 1977, 35 years old now. She loved reading and studying, and always won the No. 1 in her class whenever there was an examination in her school. Even the second or third place would make her unhappy.
In 1997, she was enrolled by Anyang University (Anyang Institute of Technology renamed after 2004) in Anyang City after three-year study in the No. 1 High School in Huaxian County. She studied hard and became a reporter with the newspaper office in the university, whose press card is still kept at home at present. However, she began to practice Falun Gong as a sophomore.

It was April in 1997 when my daughter came back home with a book, claiming that it would cure diseases after careful reading. I was illiterate, but my husband said the book included crooked means and asked her not to read it but study her lessons well. My daughter didn't say much and returned to her school.
But it was not long after that, maybe in June after the crops harvested, we received a call from my daughter's school, telling that she was wanting to jump from a building for death by practicing Falun Gong. We were scared, but had to get to the school immediately. Taking a taxi to her school in Anyang, we yet failed to see her. Her teacher told us that she escaped from the supervision and went to find her fellows of Falun Gong followers and faculties were immediately sent to find her.
We could but wait for her there and acquaintance her condition at school from her teacher. Maybe she followed the Falun Gong after some social personages tried to spread its doctrine into universities by drumming for its benefits and functions in curing diseases. At the very beginning, she read the books about Falun Gong after class; but soon she was infatuated and even read them in class. Later, she started to publicize the Falun Gong on campus, affecting the normal order of the school. The school teachers realized the severity of the issue and told her to stop and focus on studying. But she refused to listen, and went upstairs, wanted to jump from the fifth floor of a building. She was almost insane, shouting that she was to reach the consummation by practicing Falun Gong and would meet her Master Li Hongzhi. Finally, several teachers held her firmly to avoid her jumping.
On the second day, the teachers found her and brought her back to school. But my poor daughter seemed not seeing us with her eyes watching straightly ahead and mumbling. When I spoke to her, she didn't react as if hearing nothing. She totally turned into another person. Her teacher suggested that she would better quit school in such a condition. Therefore, we brought her home.

Although my kid quit school and stayed at home, she still tried to go outside. Her sister-in-law and I had to keep watching her in turn. My daughter was totally insane with a mouthful of her Master, Falun, Consummation and etc. I was not aware of what she said. The locked door could not stop her, and she leaped over the wall for three or four times to meet with the followers of Falun Gong in Anyang.
In the past few years, we insisted on taking her to hospitals including the psychiatric hospitals in Huaxian County and Xinxiang City. In those hospitals, the doctors were fully aware of this kind of mental illness, telling me that such cases were common in their hospitals. For curing her illness, we had our savings run out.
Things didn't go to a favorable turn through our years' efforts in curing my daughter after she quit school. Now, my daughter is still not recovered, sometimes from consciousness to silliness. She seems a normal person when she is sometimes clear-minded. But when she is unconscious, she keeps saying wild talk without sleeping or eating, for example, she is able to be a doctor or a teacher, or she is going to Beijing, where she has a family and a house to live…
What a poor girl my daughter is! She becomes disabled now, while her former schoolmates are all living a good life. Sometimes when they meet me, they ask how my daughter is. I cannot help crying. My husband and I should have counted on her, who would have found a decent job if she graduated from university, because she was the most excellent among the three kids. How can we think that the Falun Gong misled her into such a disabled person. I strongly denounce the Falun Gong.
