Han Xingxin
I am Han Xiusong, 44 years old. My father is Han Xingxin, a farmer living in Shahe Village, Badaohe Township, Qinglong County, Hebei Province.
In June 1996, my father began to practice Falun Gong with an aim to keep fit. After a period of practice, my father felt more comfortable physically and mentally. He was very excited and was gradually attracted by the heresies of Falun Gong. He eventually got obsessed with the cult.
Falun Gong was outlawed in July 1999. My father could not accept the reality and refused to take any advice. My mother passed away and my father lived alone in his house. He had his own responsibility field and some fruit trees. We, as his children, not only provided him with money, food and clothing, but also helped him cultivate the farmland and plant fruit trees. At the end of each year, we helped him sell apples and chestnuts and gave all revenues generated from the sale to my father. The revenues averaged RMB 3, 000 each year. My father earned more than RMB 7, 000 nearly every year. But he just bought a ton of coal, a sack of rice and a sack of flour for himself each year, while spent the remaining money on printing and distributing Falun Gong materials and ‘telling the truth’.
During the past 10 years, we as his children had dissuaded him for many times from practicing Falun Gong. But my father was too obstinate to accept our advices. He even said that his attainment of enlightenment may bring good fortune to everyone in our family.
On February 17, 2010, my father went to Caofangzhuang village, Qinglong township in our county to attend a gathering of Falun Gong practitioners. A Falun Gong disciple drove my father to the gathering on his motorcycle. But they encountered a traffic accident on the way, which led to the fracture of my father’s left ankle, damage to his brain and crush on his right hand.
On the early morning of February 18, some Falun Gong practitioners took my father back home rather than sent him to hospital. When I asked them what had happened, they said nothing and refused to bear the medical expenses. My brothers and I could do nothing but sending my father to the hospital in our county. At last, it took us more than RMB10, 000 to save the life of my father. But my father was not able to speak, and the right part of his body was paralyzed. Since then, my father has been confined to bed all the day and night, completely depending on the care of his children.
When my father came home from the hospital, a few of Falun Gong practitioners who had kept close touch with him came to treat him by delivering energy, trying to help him stand up again. I said to them, ‘If you can cure my father, I will give up what I had to learn Falun Gong with you.’ But their efforts turned out to be fruitless. Later, they said my father’s sufferings were caused by his karma and his insincerity to the cult. Since then, they did not come again.
As children, we had to take turns to take care of our father. We fed him food, washed and aired his bedding. Since my father did not have bladder and bowel control, we did not dare to put an electric blanket on his bed. We had to put the cotton-padded mattress on his bed and often wash and air the mattress in the sun. If we failed to change and wash the mattress in time, my father had to lie in the wet bedding. What a suffering!
Before my father encountered the accident, I had worked outside and earned tens of thousands of Yuan each year. Since my father was paralyzed, I had to quit my job and to take care of him at home. I did not have any income, but I had to pay my kid’s tuition and household expenses. I lived off my past gains. So my life has been in poor condition. During the past several years, my father had spent all of his energies and savings on Falun Gong, but he got paralyzed due to a traffic accident on his way to practice Falun Gong. Li Hongzhi, didn’t you say that your law body is omnipresent? Why couldn’t you protect your sincere disciple?
