Falun Gong often spreads rumors on “retribution for evil deeds”, in which a number of innocent people being reported “injured by a traffic accident”, “diagnosed with cancer”, “paralyzed”, or even “died”.

On August 7, 2012, a website controlled by Falun Gong organization released an article, claiming that Li Chengguo, head of Guangshui Sub-District Office in Wuhan, Hubei Province, died from retribution for his evil deeds (Photo 1):

Journalist from Kaiwind.com launches an investigation into the “death” of Li Chengguo, and got a surprising result.

1.       There is neither Guangshui Sub-District Office in Hubei's Wuhan, Province, nor a person named Li Chengguo.

2.       Indeed there is a Guangshui Sub-District Office in Hubei. But the Office is under the jurisdiction of Guangshui, a county-level city under Suizhou, a prefecture city. The Secretary of Party Committee in the Office is Li Chengguo. And there are two former Falun Gong practitioners named Zhu Min and Peng Xinghua in this area. Therefore, it can be confirmed that the Falun Gong website had mistaken Guangshui Sub-District Office in Guangshui City for an office in Wuhan City.

3.       According to the article released by Falun Gong's website, Li Chengguo died in a car accident on June 20, 2012 when his car rolled over on the No. 107 Highway in Guangshui while other people in the same car survived.

Followings are the facts:

The official website of Guangshui Sub-District Office reveals that Li Chengguo is still the Secretary of Party Committee in the office. News reports about Li Chengguo’s presence at various events (including those held on and after June 20, 2012) are still available on the website (Photo 2).
