How I Saved Liu from Falun Gong

2016-10-10 Source:en.people.cn Author:Li Hezuo

Mr. Lu, 53 years old, was a person who didn’t like being social. He was deceived into thinking that Falun Gong taught people to be good, and gradually became obsessed with it. Later, he promoted Falun Gong, lost his job and divorced his wife. In 2015, his children asked me to save him from the cult.

Considering he was isolated and cynical, I made a targeted plan to persuade him by revealing the false reasoning of Falun Gong.

I. The definition of “a good man” by Falun Gong

First, I asked him to make an objective comparison of himself before and after he began practicing Falun Gong. Lu said that after practicing it, he no longer quarreled with his wife nor competed with others at work, thus he became a man of ‘high morality’. I then asked why he divorced his wife. He answered that they had different values. Then I asked why he could tolerate the differences before, and he got lost in thought. I asked him what the criteria of a good employee are. He answered that a good employee must fulfill the tasks at work. Then I asked, if one does better than others, is he or she a good employee? He answered affirmatively. Then I told him, by not competing with others for better performance at work, he was not being a good employee. He didn’t refute me.

Then I ask him to compare his performance at home with his wife.

He told me that his wife took care of the elders and children, while he didn’t. But when he fulfilled self-cultivation, he would be able to bring blessings for his family. I quoted Li Hongzhi’s teaching of “putting self-cultivation before others” and asked, wasn’t it selfish to first cultivate himself and then care for his family? His wife, on the other hand, was being selfless because she put the family before herself. Lu was lost in silence.

Comparing Lu with normal people, I found that he thought himself not good enough while the Falun Gong group was good. Therefore, I analyzed the purpose of Falun Gong.

II. See through the selfishness of being good in Falun Gong

As is true with other practitioners, Lu thought himself to be at a higher level than average people.

For example, they would not fight with others, nor seek personal gain, for they believed in the “One Loss and Four Gains” theory of Li Hongzhi. If someone hits you, and you refrain from hitting back, then part of your karma is transferred to him while you gain ‘virtue’. Then you will reach a higher level and get closer to completeness. In this way, Li was actually teaching the practitioners to gain at the expense of others. Just as he remarked in Dharmacakra, they are seeking the completeness that average people cannot reach. Thus, the definition of being good is deceit and selfishness.

III.Revealing the Paradoxes of Falun Gong

In reality, from the individual Falun Gong practitioners to the whole organization, they are not being good at all. Li Hongzhi, who preaches truthfulness, benevolence and tolerance, is actually a liar. He changed his birth date in order to pretend to be the incarnation of Sakyamuni. He cheated his followers into practiceing Falun Gong to remove karma rather than seeking medical treatment, resulting in the deaths of many innocent people. He himself, on the other hand, had medical records in many hospitals. He was not as he said, preaching voluntarily, but rather seeking profits.

I revealed the truth of ‘being good’ in Falun Gong, guiding him to put into perspective the dark side of the society and see through Falun Gong, thus remedying his misconception that Falun Gong can save the society.
