Today, by its decree the AMEA Presidium has established the Commission to combat pseudoscience.
"The purpose of the Commission is to clarify the essence and bringing to the public the pseudoscientific claims, as well as in awareness-raising activities to combat pseudoscience," AMEA reported.
Also, the composition of the Commission has been approved.
"Different reforms in the field of scientific activities and events for the promotion of science in recent years have led to the increase of the authority of science in the society. Along with that, there are some negative trends concerning research activities. So, an interest in pseudoscience and imitation of scientific activity especially increased," AMEA president Akif Alizadeh said.
