South Korean cults refer to cult organizations including Unification Church and Christian Gospel Mission,etc.. They carry out infiltrative activities indirectly in China, so it is hard to guard against them.

The Unification Church which accumulates wealth by unfair means

The Unification Church was founded by South Korean Moon Sun-myung. Its full name is the “Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity”, and commonly called the “Unification Church” or “Unification Association”. It is a cult organization with a rigid hierarchy and mind control. Followers are required to devote themselves to Sun Myung Moon, and male followers are encouraged to have sex with female followers, which is called “baptism”.

A group wedding of followers

The Unification Church has been attempting to infiltrate China since its establishment. Its subordinate body, the “International Education Foundation,” conducted infiltrative activities in the name of cultural exchange and educational cooperation; the “Family Federation for World Peace and Unification” set branches secretly in major cities such as Beijing, Tianjin, Guangzhou, Shenyang, Xi’an, etc. For illegal preaching.

In addition, Sun Moon University attempted to cooperate with colleges and universities in China to hook in Chinese students. CheongShim International Medical Center also sought to infiltrate though cooperation with domestic medical and tourist organizations.

The cult has caused much concern amongst society and people have raised awareness of the great harm caused by the Unification Church. It promotes “designated marriage" and so-called “collective marriage”, which ruins families and marriages; it controls followers and asks them to “devote” themselves as early as possible, raise more money and promote goods sold by the cult; it exploits followers heavily and requires that every follower should hand in all their income in the first 3 years as well as an annual tithe after 3 years.

The Christian Gospel Mission(CGM) which philanders with females

CGM was founded by South Korean Jung Myung-seok. He deified himself by claiming that  Jesus had died and will never be resurrected, so he is the only “savior” and real Jesus in this world. At the same time, he published 30 LessonsI Stand for God? and The world of Truth?, etc. to spread his spurious fallacies.

Activity recordings of CGM

CGM mainly targets college students, especially female college students. It spreads ideas through the “Association of World Peace and Cultural Exchange” and “Taekwondo”, etc. As college students have strong curiosity and sense of competition, under the bandwagon effect, quitting from CGM is very hard. As time passes, they will be trapped deeper and cannot get rid of it.

Joining CGM will result in negative consequences. Apart from collecting money for CGM, some followers will be harassed by the founder, Jung Myung-seok, and result in tragedies. Once followers realize that CGM is a cult in essence and want to quit, they will be terrified and suffer traumas. Some followers cannot bear the mental suffering and finally commit suicide.

Although Jung Myung-seok is still in prison, CGM never gives up its attempted infiltration in China. Instead, it uses all kinds of tricks to deceive college students. Great attention should be paid to prevent and reject it.

The Dami Mission which preaches about “doomsday”

The Dami Mission, which advocates “doomsday”, was founded by South Korean Lee Jang-rim in 1988. 4 years after its foundation, in 1992, the Dami Mission spread to China and once involved more than 10 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government.

Publicity materials of Dami Mission

The Dami Mission claimed that 11 p.m. on October 28th, 1992 was the beginning of doomsday and that people joining it would ascend to heaven with the renascent Jesus, and people who did not believe him would suffer from “catastrophe” as well as judgments by Jesus 7 years later.

At present, Dami Mission has more than 60 gathering places with over 400 main members. It has deceived 1,200 people to sell their properties, leave families or quit their job and studies to join “ascending” activities, or even commit collective suicide, which does great harm to followers’ lives and property safety, as well as social stability.

Preaching about “doomsday” is a typical feature of a cult. The Almighty God has become a laughingstock, people should consciously say “no” to Dami Mission as it is a typical cult.

The World Elijah Evangelical Mission which endangers national security

The World Elijah Evangelical Mission was founded by South Korean Park Myung-ho. He claims that he is the last “prophet” and requires his followers to worship him as “the God of stone”. He also claimed that “doomsday” would fall in 2000, and he would become a God on September 30th, 1997. He preaches about eliminating countries.

In 1993, the World Elijah Evangelical Mission was introduced into China, involving 11 provinces and cities, including Liaoning, Jilin, Heilongjiang, Beijing, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, Zhejiang, Anhui, Shandong and Henan. It has established more than 20 gathering spots and tie points, together with 8 inhabited villages of “State of Stone” to deceive people to sell their assets and migrate to live together.

The cult aims to undermine the Chinese regime and asks followers to sever ties with the outside world to learn creeds with no newspapers, TV or radio. Followers should be absolutely obedient to the founder to establish the “State of Stone” in China and destroy the Chinese communist system.

Social stability leads to a happy life. The cult aims to destroy the current system in China. Similar to Lotte Group’s transfer of land, their behavior, with evil intentions, can bring huge potential harm and cannot be forgiven.

In addition, South Korean cults, including Church of Jesus, Association of Supernatural Beings, Manmin Central Church, Central Association of Holy Spirit, take advantage of China’s reforms and opening-up to infiltrate in China in the name of Christianity. Their real motives are to recruit more followers, extract money and undermine China.
