Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong cult have deceived many kind-hearted people in the name of helping them to be stronger and healthier. It then proceeded to induce followers to burn themselves so as to obtain the so-called "higher level" and "consummation". Li Hongzhi and his Falun Gong cult have proven to be extremely hazardous to people's lives and security, the Chinese government therefore bans it according to the law, which act has received people's enthusiastic welcome and support.
Many employees from the circles of science and technology, social science, medical science, law, religion and press have voluntarily set up "the China Association for Cultic Studies", a non-governmental anti-cult association, so as to defend the dignity of mankind, to implement the law, to maintain social stability, and to strike at cults. The famous scientist Zhuang Fenggan, also an academician of the Chinese Academy of Science (CAS), has been named the general director of this association.
"The China anti-cult Association" launches activities energetically, and utilizes all kinds of means to reveal Falun Gong's vicious nature, which goes against society, humanity and science. To express the public's strong desire for "fighting against cults, protecting human rights ", the association has issued a written proposal named " Millions of People Signing for the Fight against Cults and Defending Human Rights ".
The proposal says, "As humanity has entered into the 21st century, peace and development has been the main stream of the time. But in recent years, the influence of cults has spread worldwide, becoming social pollution for the whole world, and a backwash hindering social progress and scientific development. It has caused many tragic disasters for incalculable families and individuals, constituting serious damage for the whole world and society as well. In China, the Falun Gong cult carries on hierarchical worship, implements mind control, desecrates human dignity, spurns laws, victimizes others and even causes their deaths. It turns back the wheel of history, which has triggered great public anger ". The proposal calls on people who have the will to fight against cults, from every walk of life, to join together and excise the cult cancer, to carry forward the just and honorable social vogue, to guarantee people's health both physically and spiritually, to defend the nation’s lasting stability and durable peace. Everyone should use the pen in his hand to express his will to fight against cults and guarantee human rights.
This movement advocated by the “China Anti-cult Association " has been actively responded to by masses of people nationwide, especially after the self-burning incident by the Falun Gong practitioners in Tian'anmen Square on January 23, 2001, which provoked public outrage. They have organized all kinds of activities to condemn Falun Gong's crime of cruelly ending life and trampling on human rights. In factories, villages, schools and communities, from the coastal east to the mountainous Pamirs (west), from the warm Hainan island (south) to the snowy north, people all actively took part in the movement. Up to now, more than 1.5 million people have signed their signature on the scrolls. These scrolls add up to 10 kilometers on which there are millions of thickly-dotted signatures. To the ordinary people, they are just common scrolls, but they have special meaning, each different font and style of signature, fully expresses the people`s strong will of striking at the Falun Gong cult and maintaining human rights and laws. Fighting against cults and guaranteeing human rights is a long-term task, we earnestly expect that those who have the strong will to fight against them can cooperate with each other and fight side by side, and exert themselves to cut out the cancer completely.
