Li Hongzhi has been using people's psychological effects. He does not have any supernatural power. It is necessary to guard against the tricks played by pseudo-Qigong masters.

The name of "Falun Gong" itself shows its ulterior motives. As referring to "Gong", people would immediately think of "Qigong." Qigong is a traditional culture widely welcomed by the general public. By putting on the coat of "Gong", "Falun Gong" used public's inertia of thinking to gain popularity. Under the guise of Qigong, Li Hongzhi peddles his idealism, theism and doomsday theory. He steals some terminology from Buddhism and modern science, and dresses the "Falun Gong" up as the combination of traditional cultures and modern science, in order to hoodwink and deceive the public. In fact, it is anti-science, anti-human, anti-society's pseudo-science. Li Hongzhi knows it well: when people are suffering from a serious setback or unable to shake off the control of fate, they tend to believe some supernatural things. By using this psychological character, he claimed: no medication, practice "Falun Gong" as treatment, and he recruited followers. Li Hongzhi also strengthened his psychological propaganda offensive by preaching "leading to a higher level", "leading people to the heavenly kingdom." In fact, these allegations are his psychological tactics. In his own words: who would have believed if I had not boasted about it.

I have conducted Qigong research for more than 20 years. The real Qigong is rooted in the traditional Chinese culture as the background and based on Chinese meridian theory, the theory of qi and blood and the theory Point. It improves human physiological function and mental function through tuning of mentality and body and improvement of digestion, so as to achieve the purpose of fitness and recovery from illnesses. But Falun Gong is based on doomsday theory, fatalism, and theism, insisted supernatural idealism. It is in diametrical opposition with the traditional Chinese Qigong, and is contrary to science.
