A woman accused of taking part in the murder of an eight-year-old diabetic girl is refusing medical treatment while pregnant in prison.

Samantha Emily Crouch, who is at the Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre at Wacol, has refused to let medical staff near her.

She was charged with the murder of Elizabeth Struhs last January in Toowoomba after she, along with 13 others, allegedly deprived the child of her insulin.

Her refusal to accept help in prison has frustrated workers worried about the health of the alleged killer's unborn baby.

Officers told the Courier-Mail Crouch has threatened to have the baby without advising anyone.

'[Authorities] don't know how far it's along either. An officer has to sit and observe her throughout the night on overtime,' an insider said.

Crouch is part of a religious cult who reject medical intervention, police have alleged.

The fundamentalist group call themselves 'the Saints' and allegedly consider themselves the highest form of Christianity.

In January, members of the group prayed over Elizabeth, who had type-1 diabetes, in an attempt to let God 'heal her' or raise her from the dead.

It's alleged rather than giving the little girl her life-saving medication, her parents Jason, 50, and Kerrie, 46, and up to 20 members of their breakaway Christian church surrounded Elizabeth and chanted prayers and hymns.

But the girl died five days later on January 7, after the insulin was taken away from her on January 2, police alleged.

Paramedics also were not notified of the death until a day later because the group allegedly didn't want to keep a corpse in the house.

The parents were charged with murder, torture and failing to provide the necessities of life for the youngster - with 14 figures of the group in custody.

The group includes eight women and six men, with the oldest a 64-year-old female and the youngest a 19-year-old male.
