Feb. 11 (Kaiwind) – On February 5, 2011, Falun Gong was on the float parade in Chinatown in Cuahutemoc District, Mexico City, but its parade was banned on the spot by the workers of Mexico government, they also tore down its banners and slogans. Then Falun Gong accused the government workers of attacking on them. The Mexican mainstream media La Razon published the statement by Agustín Torres Pérez, the chief executive of Cuahutemoc District. He denied the attack on Falun Gong practitioners during the New Year parade in Mexico City and stressed that Falun Gong trespassed on the parade area without government's permission.

February 3 was the first day of lunar New Year. In order to avoid the disturbance from petty dealers during the New Year parade, the Marketing Department and Public Transit Department of Cuahutemoc District had deployed workers around Chinatown. They also sent four tot trucks there. Meanwhile, the public security police fromFederal District also came to the area to protect pedestrians.

Falun Gong tried to park the float in the street between Independenceand Dolores. Actually, the Falun Gong truck, which was fully laden with Falun Gong members, wasn't allowed into the area without the permission of relevant authority. But at the instance of Falun Gong, the workers allowed them to park the truck between Moroccan and Independencein the end.

However, Falun Gong disrespected this disposal, so the Businessman leader of Chinatown Hector Lopezhad to turn to the authority for help and removed the float. Though some media originally believed that this event was planned by the Chinese Embassy in Mexico, the La Razon reported that a diplomatic agent had confirmed that Hector Lopezadvanced this event.

"In this situation, the workers of Public Transit Department of Cuahutemoc District detain some cushions of Falun Gong members and will return to them when they leave. We must point out that we never make physical or verbal attacks on them at any time." Agustín Torres Pérez reasserted in the statement that Mexico is open to any expressions about politics, art or culture, and always respects human rights. Meanwhile, regardless of the origin, religious belief and social strata, the policies of jurisdictions are for all the people.

The Public Security Department of Mexico also co signed this statement, pointing out that Falun Gong float was not permitted into Independence.
