Liang Qichao once said, “When the young people are wise, the country will be wise. When the young people are rich, the country will be rich. And when the young people are strong, the country is strong.” Children are the hope and future of society. Like delicate flowers, they should be well taken care of, yet when seized by cults, they often pay a heavy price or even lose their life. Liu Siying committed self-immolation with her mother; Tong Yan killed his 6 years old daughter with a knife; and Almighty God followers trampled to death a 14 year old boy. These appalling cases remind us of the harm done to children and mankind as a whole.
Children coerced into cults and lost their lives
As children are still developing mentally and weak in making judgments between right and wrong, they place their full trust in their parents without thought of guarding against risks. If the parents fall under the influence of cults, then the children are vulnerable to the coercion of the cults and will easily join them passively. Here we would like to cite the examples of Liu Siying and Song Shuanglong.
People still have vivid memory of the self-immolation whih occurred at Tiananmen Square 15 years ago. Among the victims were a mother and her daughter, named Liu Chunling and Liu Siying. 12-year-old Liu Siying called herself the “little tail of mom”. She followed her mother into practicing Falun Gong from 1999. In the afternoon of Jan.23, 2001, led by her mother, Liu Siying and 5 other Falun Gong practitioners committed self-immolation in Tiananmen Square, in accordance with Li Hongzhi’s requirement of “seeking completeness”. Her mother died on the spot and Liu Siying was sent to the hospital and died later. At that time, she was only 12 years old. She could have been studying at school, yet she lost her life believing in the lie of “flying to the Heavenly kingdom” propogated by Falun Gong.
Song Shuanglong, who lives in Nanguan District of Changchun City, Jilin Province, was coerced by his mother into practicing Falun Gong. Song Shuanglong had two extra cartilages in his nasal cavity and had been intermittently treated at hospital. In 1996, Ma Xiurong practiced Falun Gong and firmly believed that Falun Gong could cure all diseases. She required her son to practice as well. However, Song Shuanglong's condition did not improve, but actually became worse. His eyesight deteriorated quickly from seeing blurred images to complete blindness. On New Year's Day in 1999, Song Shuanlong's symptoms suddenly deteriorated. Ma Xiurong still stubbornly instructed her son, who had difficulty standing up, to do all kinds of movements of Falun Gong. On May 12, Song Shuanglong passed away at home. Foolish Ma Xiurong ended her son's life in the name of Falun Gong.
Children killed by parents who were obsessed with cults
When people join cults, they can easily be brainwashed into becoming dupes and mobs. In order to achieve certain goals, they often lose their senses and kill innocent people, even their own children. XuChe and Dai Nan were killed by their mothers.
Tong Yan was an employee of the Water Supply Co., of Liaohe oilfield. She began to practice Falun Gong in October, 1996 and later became obsessed with it. On the evening of December, 1999, to achieve completeness, she killed her 6 year-old daughter XuChe with a knife. Before practicing the cult, she was a hardworking employee who took good care of her parents and children. Falun Gong turned her into a demon.
On April 22, 2002, a nine-year-old girl, Dai Nan, was killed by her mother, Guan Shuyun, in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. Her mother was a Falun Gong addict. Guan began practicing Falun Gong in April 1997. In order to practice the cult, she put everything else aside and did not work or take care of her family. She often practiced at midnight. Under the fallacies of the cult, Guan looked forward to achieving completeness and believed that her daughter was a demon, so she strangled her daughter to death. It was the cult that led her to lose her humanity and kill her own daughter.
Children killed by cult practitioners
The nature of cults is anti-science, anti-human, anti-social, and anti-government. To fulfill a certain purpose, they lack respect for life and even kill children.
In 2010, a primary school student in Henan disappeared on the way to school, and was later found dead in a fireplace. The soles of his feet were branded with a lightning sign. After investigation, the local police confirmed that a member of the child’s family had joined the Almighty God cult. As he wanted to withdraw, revenge was taken upon him by other cult members.
Zhao Xiuxia lives in Nanyang, Henan Province. Her son, Liang Chao, suffered from poliomyelitis. In order to cure her son, she offered RMB 10,000 to the Church of Almighty God, who promised to cure his illness. From Aug.16, 2011, her son began to receive treatment. The so-called treatment by Almighty God members was simply one meal a day, prayers and chanting. They pressed Liang Chao’s legs with several wooden boards and even trampled on them. The hot weather and lack of food resulted in his death on the third day.
At 7 a.m. on Dec.14, 2012, a brutal attack occurred in Wanquan Primary School of Wenshu Village, Guangshan County. Min Yongjun, 36 years old, rushed into the school and injured 22 students and 1 villager. With the assistance of villagers, the police controlled Min and sent him to the police station. It was found that Min had been deceived by a female follower of the Church of Almighty God, who claimed that doomsday was coming. Min was so cruel that he injured 23 people on campus.
Let us join hands to fight against cults so that our children can grow up in a healthy and safe environment.
