2K Games and Hangar 13 unveiled the latest Mafia 3 DLC today titled "Sign of the Time". The newest Lincoln Clay adventure will arrive on July 25.

Following DLCs like "Faster, Baby!" and "Stones Unturned," Sign of the Times once again follows budding New Bordeaux Kingpin, Lincoln Clay, as he fights against a violent cult called The Ensanglante who are apparently on a bloody mission to return "righteousness" to New Bordeaux via violent rituals. The cult apparently harnesses hallucinogenic drugs to controls its cult members, and turns them into an army of killers. It's up to Clay to protect his city from these zealots.

Hangar 13 describes the new DLC as a 1960s inspired psychological cat-and-mouse game that "will push Lincoln's grip on reality to the brink." I'm imagining the drug-fueled trips of other games like Far Cry 3.

The new DLC will also introduce new mechanics. As part of the infiltration mission against the Ensanglante, Lincoln will use his spec-ops training (stealth probably) and utilize combat skills like knife throwing and a new slow-mo shooting technique.

Lastly, the players will be able to restore Sammy's Bar, which gets ruined in the aftermath of one of the Ensanglante's rituals. If you restore Sammy's Bar, you just might be able to restore Lincoln's soul in the process.

I was actually just thinking about Mafia 3 earlier today and how despite some critical missteps, the game managed to include some bold storytelling, which I think is worth looking past any design flaws. Just check out Mike's review here.
