The organizing committee of the 2008 Beijing Games has published an open letter on its official website, seeking pictures featuring smiling faces of children from all over the world.
According to the letter, the picture should be the front shot of a kid who is smiling or even laughing happily. The child can be a boy or a girl, but heshe needs to be under ten years of age.
Also, pictures submitted should not have been used for any commercial purpose before.
People can submit pictures of several children at a time before April 30 next year, but each child is allowed to provide five color photos.
Qualified pictures will be used in the opening or closing ceremonies of the Beijing games. It may appear in the performance of the ceremonies or on print materials related to the big games, according to the committee.
However, to keep the ideas for the ceremonies fresh, the committee didn't disclose where exactly the pictures will be used, only saying that it will give further information to the public at an appropriate time in the process of preparing for the Ceremonies.
