Shanghai scenic spots were forced to shut off their landscape lights on Thursday evening due to electricity shortages caused by the unusually heavy snow.
China Foto Press Friday reports that Shanghai's 140-kilometer landscape line accounted for 0.3 percent of the city's total electricity use.
Officials said they have not yet determined a date to resume the lighting.
