The symbol to be used for mass celebrations during the National Day on October 1, also China's 60th founding anniversary, was unveiled on Tuesday. Regulations regarding the use of the symbol were also made public, the Legal Daily reports.
The symbol is mainly based on figure "60", with body color of figure "6" and "0" in National Flag red. But figure "0" is designed as a red-color-filled circle, with yellow five stars and image of Tian'anmen rostrum inlaid in its center. Below the rostrum also bears the dates "1949-2009", the time period in which the republic has come all the way through.
The symbol will be used on designated facilities, equipment, press releases, souvenirs, invitation letters and entrance tickets during various celebration activities, according to the committee overseeing the 60th National Day celebrations.
Meanwhile, the committee also bans the symbol from being used for commercial purposes without its approval.
