Chinese number three Peng Shuai makes third round after shock straight sets victory over world number eight.

All smiles: Peng Shuai has enjoyed a fantastic start to 2011.
China’s Peng Shuai has made it into round three of the Australian Open after a shock straight sets victory over seventh seed Jelena Jankovic in Melbourne.
The Hunan-native ousted 2008 US Open runner-up Jankovic 7-6, 6-3 to equal her best performance at the Australian Open.
It was only the second time the Chinese had beaten the world number eight. Jankovic now leads their head-to-head series 6-2.
Peng, the world number 54, will now meet Japan’s Ayumi Morita in round three after the Japanese took a straight sets win over France’s Caroline Garcia.
Peng has enjoyed a fine start to the 2011 season; making the semi-finals in both tournaments she has contested so far.
Chinese players have performed exceptionally at recent Australian Opens. Last year, Chinese numbers one and two Li Na and Zheng Jie made history after becoming the first Chinese players to make the semi-final of a Grand Slam event.
