The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Link has passed construction acceptance, marking the successful completion of the world-class trans-sea cluster project after seven years of preparatory work and challenging construction, the Guangdong Transportation Group announced on Sunday.

The project's quality has passed a rigorous examination and is about to open its traffics amidst anticipation, adding a crucial link to the golden inner bay A-shaped transportation network at the mouth of the Pearl River.
The link is a key control project of the national highway network G2518 spanning the Pearl River estuary, according to the transportation company.

Located approximately 30 kilometers north of the Humen Bridge and 31 kilometers south of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the link starts at the Shenzhen Airport interchange, crosses the Lingdingyang sea area to the west lands at Ma'anshan Island in Zhongshan, Guangdong province.

The project integrates bridges, islands, tunnels and underwater interchanges, with a total length of about 24 kilometers, making it one of the most challenging trans-sea cluster projects in the world in terms of comprehensive construction difficulty.
