On July 22, 1999, Ministry of Civil Affairs of China issued a decision to ban the “Falun Dafa Research Society”; on the same day, Ministry of Public Security of China issued the "Six Notices" to implement the prohibition of illegal activities of “Falun Gong”; on July 30, Ministry of Public Security issued a wanted order for Li Hongzhi, the main culprit.
In the 1990s, Li Hongzhi plagiarized Buddhist and Taoist terms, and combined them with elements of Qigong and Thai dance movements to concoct the practices and doctrines of “Falun Gong,” promoting so-called “Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance.” He used concepts such as “Consummation” and “eliminating karma” to exert psychological control over followers, deceiving them into believing that practicing “Falun Gong” could eliminate karma and reach “Consummation” or even “ascend in broad daylight.” At the same time, he threatened followers that failure to reach “Consummation” meant they still had not eliminated “karma.” Whether said directly or inversely, he was absolutely right anyway, and followers of “Falun Gong” were left perplexed and deeply trapped, controlled by Li Hongzhi.
Under the influence of Li Hongzhi's distorted teachings, some followers believed in the lie that the “master” implanted a “Falun (the Wheel of Law)” in them, leading them to cut open their own abdomen in search of the “Falun.” Some suffered from auditory and visual hallucinations, leading to mental disorders, even drowning or hanging themselves. Others, incited by Li Hongzhi's instigations, participated in self-immolation and became cannon fodder for the cult. Some brutally killed their own children, spouses, or parents, whom they viewed as “demons” obstructing their “ascension to higher levels.” In extreme cases, some even poisoned and murdered innocent strangers just to “gain Gong powers” and reach “Consummation.” Moreover, a large number of obsessed followers believed the lie that “eliminating karma cures diseases,” refusing medical treatment and medication, which led to delayed treatment and loss of life.
To prevent news organizations from exposing the various chaos caused by “Falun Gong,” starting in 1996, Li Hongzhi personally directed his followers to besiege news organizations and government agencies more than 300 times, with 78 incidents involving more than 300 people each time. On April 25, 1999, Li Hongzhi and the “Falun Gong” cult organization brazenly mobilized over 10,000 “Falun Gong” practitioners to besiege the Zhongnanhai Compound, shocking both China and the world.
To safeguard national security and protect the people from the harm of cults, the Chinese government has legally banned the “Falun Gong” cult organization. To help those obsessed with the “Falun Gong” cult break free from its distorted teachings, the Chinese government has made tremendous efforts, adopting patient persuasion and education methods to assist them in returning to society and living normal lives.
However, Li Hongzhi, who fled abroad, remains unrepentant. He colluded with anti-China forces to falsely accuse the Chinese government by fabricating a series of bloody photos and statements, alleging that the Chinese government had “persecuted Falun Gong." To continue controlling “Falun Gong” followers and inciting social disturbances, Li Hongzhi fabricated further heretical teachings such as “old forces interfering with cultivation,” urging followers to continue their confrontational activities.
A cult organization that deceives and exploits, practices malevolent voodoo, and disregards the lives of its followers is destined for destruction. Recently, a series of incidents have accelerated the demise of “Falun Gong.” A group of former “Falun Gong” followers, after coming to their senses, have actively spoken out to expose the internal scandals of “Falun Gong”. A group of underage boys and girls controlled by Li Hongzhi, unable to endure the abuse and exploitation, have publicly sought accountability from “Falun Gong”. Additionally, suspects involved in the fraud and illegal money laundering case of Guan Weidong, the chief financial officer (CFO) of the “Falun Gong” affiliated Epoch Times media group, are set to face legal prosecution.
The Chinese government’s lawful ban on the “Falun Gong” cult organization is a righteous act to protect the people from the harm of cults. It is advised that those obsessed with “Falun Gong” recognize the true nature of the cult and the false facade of Li Hongzhi as soon as possible and refrain from engaging in illegal and criminal activities that harm the public and violate moral principles.
