Kindness or cult? Questions over Falun Dafa's inclusion in Santa parades

Jaya Gibson, a former Falun Dafa practitioner accepted interview of New Zealand Herald.

Li Hongzhi's shocking remarks on aliens and homosexuality.

In a recent report in the New Zealand Herald, Jaya Gibson, a former Falun Dafa practitioner, told reporter Michael Morrah why he believes Falun Dafa is a dangerous cult.

Having practiced Falun Dafa for over a decade, Gibson has recently begun to question its teachings: refusing medical treatment led to his father's death from cancer. Furthermore, he finds Li Hongzhi's statements regarding extraterrestrials, homosexuality and other topics to be shocking. As a result, he thinks practicing Falun Dafa is harmful to society and anti-scientific.

While Falun Dafa parades assert their pure intent to showcase Chinese civilization, further exploration of the group unveils it as a perilous belief system. In an interview, writer and journalist Anke Richter highlights that beneath the seemingly "harmless" displays of song and dance in Falun Dafa's parades and performances lies a purpose that transcends mere entertainment.
