Falun Gong Claims that 400 Million People Have Left the Chinese Communist Party. Is this True?
Date: 2026-04-24

The “Three Quits” referred to by Falun gong means withdrawing from the Chinese Communist Party, the Communist Youth League, the Young Pioneers, and other organizations.

In November 2004, Falun Gong media’s The Epoch Times published the series of articles “Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,” inciting Chinese Communist Party members to withdraw from the party, attempting through this method to subvert China’s legitimate government. For this purpose, Falun Gong also established the so-called “The Global Service Center for Quitting Chinese Communist Party” and set up a website for quitting the party, updating the so-called “quitting party” numbers daily at a rate of 30,000 to 60,000 people. Due to the falsity of these numbers, they were ridiculed both domestically and internationally. To cover up this lie, Falun Gong also added the contents of “quitting the Communist Youth League” and “quitting the Young Pioneers of China,” collectively referred to as “Three Quits,” to deceive the public. As of July 2025, the Falun Gong cult organization claimed that the “Three Quits” numbers had reached 450 million people. Ridiculously, the “party withdrawal list” even included cartoon characters such as Zhu Bajie, Pleasant Goat, Big Big Wolf, as well as pets named Beibei and Kuku, and countless pseudonyms. In Linhai, Zhejiang alone, Falun Gong member Zhang Sufang fabricated 300 pseudonyms and uploaded them to the party withdrawal website from May 2008 to March 2009. Hu Ming in Qingdao, Shandong, went so far as to fabricate over 9,000 “Statements of Withdrawal from the Party,” including a large number of relatives and friends, such as his grandfather who had long passed away.

The facts demonstrate that the number of Chinese Communist Party members has not only failed to decrease but has instead increased at a rate of nearly 1.5 million annually. The so-called “Three Withdrawals” farce staged by Falun Gong serves merely as self-amusement for the cult, further exposing its inherently deceitful nature as a cult organization.
