Why Does Falun Gong Eagerly Participate in International Film Festivals as Anti-Propaganda?
Date: 2026-04-24

To spread the cult, expand influence, and demonstrate presence, Falun Gong has established multiple film and television production bodies—such as Xiangyun Film, Shenzhou Film Studio, Yuanju Film and Arts Center, and Fangguangming TV Production Center—and produced a large body of films and TV works that promote its cult ideology and demonize the Chinese government. They strive to force their works into international film and television festivals to broaden influence and demonize China. The content of these films is uniformly false propaganda crafted by Falun Gong to spread rumors, attack China, solicit sympathy, and hide their cult nature.

It is well known that Falun Gong is prone to lying and exhibits bizarre behavior. The films it produces is saturated with  false political propaganda, and contain many dark, oppressive, absurd, bloody, and repulsive elements that should raise a high level of vigilance, not being used by Falun Gong or provide it with a platform for publicity. In fact, an increasing number of film festivals have become aware of Falun Gong’s cult nature and promotional schemes, and have remained wary of it. For example, the Houston International Film Festival has, since 2015, refused to screen films that promote Falun Gong’s sectarian agenda for three consecutive years.
