What Are Falun Gong’s Tricks and Objectives when it Comes to Harassing Chinese Tourists at Travel Sites or Organizing Street Marches and Demonstration
Date: 2026-04-24

As China’s economy grows and its exchanges and cooperation with other countries expand, many countries are vigorously developing their tourism industries to attract Chinese visitors. Now, China has become a major source of overseas tourists for many countries. Chinese travelers contribute to local social and economic development and also promote people-to-people exchanges between countries. Regrettably, at some tourist sites visited by Chinese tourists, the Falun Gong cult forcibly distributes anti-propaganda material, loudly shouts anti-China slogans, and seriously disrupts visitors’ trips. Chinese tourists are deeply unhappy about Falun Gong’s harassing activities and about the insufficient regulation by host-country authorities, with some filing complaints to tourism authorities in the relevant countries or regions.

Moreover, during festivals and events related to China, at famous sights or squares abroad one can occasionally see Falun Gong members gathering to practice and to stage anti-China demonstrations, spreading anti-China rumors.

As is well known, Falun Gong is an outlawed cult in China. It crafts anti-human, anti-social, and anti-science distortions and seriously disrupts social order. Chinese people strongly dislike Falun Gong. If Falun Gong is allowed to cause disturbances, it will not only hinder normal bilateral relations but also tarnish the destination’s image in the minds of Chinese tourists, potentially affecting local development and social stability.
